China’s Catholics and the Church’s Moral Witness

"The human rights situation in China has deteriorated severely under the autocratic rule of Xi Jinping, especially for religious believers. Credible reports have exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s program of forced sterilizations and abortions of Muslims in Xinjiang, its abuse of Catholic priests and laypeople, and its assault on Protestant house churches—all of which are parts of a “Sinicization” campaign to subordinate God to the Party while promoting Xi himself as an ultramundane deity. Now more than ever, the Chinese people need the Vatican’s moral witness and authority in support of China’s religious believers.

Vatican diplomats are meeting this month with their CCP counterparts to negotiate the renewal of a two-year-old provisional agreement between the Holy See and China. The terms of that pact have never been publicly disclosed; but the Church’s hope was that it would improve the condition of Catholics in China by reaching agreement with the Chinese regime on the appointment of bishops, the traditional stewards of the faith in local communities.

Two years on, it’s clear that the Sino-Vatican agreement has not shielded Catholics from the Party’s depredations, to say nothing of the Party’s horrific treatment of Christians, Tibetan Buddhists, Falun Gong devotees, and other religious believers. The State Department’s 2019 annual report on religious freedom provides an illustrative example in the story of Father Paul Zhang Guangjun, who was beaten and “disappeared” for refusing to join the CCP-run Patriotic Catholic Association. Sadly, his experience is not unique. Communist authorities continue to shutter churches, spy on and harass the faithful, and insist that the Party is the ultimate authority in religious affairs. Priest arrested for filming a porno with two prostitutes, in his church, on the alter. Because it was visible from outside, that meant obscenity laws were broken. The two harlots also face charges.

The church ordered the altar burned. A new altar was consecrated.

Kid is the polar opposite of the always online Reddit atheist

Already touted as the “patron saint of the internet,” Acutis created a website to catalog miracles and took care of websites for some local Catholic organizations. While still in elementary school, Acutis taught himself to code using a university computer science textbook, and then learned how to edit videos and create animation.

“Carlo used the internet in service of the Gospel, to reach as many people as possible,’’ the cardinal said during his homily, adding that the teen saw the web “as a place to use with responsibility, without becoming enslaved.”

...

Acutis was born in London on May 3, 1991, to Italian parents and moved to Milan as a child. Already as a small child, he showed a strong religious devotion that surprised his non-practicing parents. His mother told the Corriere della Sera newspaper that from age 3 he would ask to visit churches they passed in Milan, and by age 7 had asked to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, winning an exception to the customary age requirement.

’’There was in him a natural predisposition for the sacred,” his mother said.

So pathetic to see this ignorant people take down a Statue of a Saint who took the animal out of the barbarians living in North America by introducing them to the Catholic Faith...

Its disgusting. St. Junipero Serra was responsible for laying the foundations of what are now several important population centers in California including San Diego, San Francisco, San Gabriel, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Santa Clara. I have many fond memories of many visits to the mission in San Juan Capistrano (aka The Jewel of the Missions) growing up. For a little while when I still lived in Orange County I would commute to a job in Capistrano and I could see one of the mission's towers from the freeway right as I was exiting. To this day I still remember the first event I ever did in Scouts, when I was 7 the whole Cub Scout pack got together early in the morning and after hot chocolate we all walked two miles to go visit the mission for a tour.

Read St. Serra's Wikipedia page for a quick rundown on him, he was one tough hombre. I'll have to find a book on him and add it to my reading list.

This post made me think about how terrible Catholics have it in China. Here we have new believers, they are being openly opressed for being Catholic, which is terrible. Then, on top of all that, the vatican signs a deal with their oppressor's. The deal is designed perhaps to reduce the oppression, against religious independance and Truth, but in exchange for perhaps the ability to worship freely and to be safe.

The Chinese Catholics get neither Truth nor security.

The Vatican then signs a new deal based on the old one.

It's difficult enough to not be scandalized by the Pope, but when you actually put yourself in a Chinese Catholics' shoes, it's way worse.

To commemorate the protests of a year ago, which claimed 30 lives and injured countless people, left-wing radicals again plunged Chile into violent Riots. For the devout Chileans it is a stab in the heart: the left-wing radicals set fire to two historic churches at once.

A year ago, 30 people died in the violent protests in conservative-ruled Chile. 580 demonstrators were arrested.
Last weekend there were again violent clashes of left-wing radicals with the police. This time they also ignited two historical churches. Among them is the "Parroquía de la Asunción", one of the oldest churches in the country.

Vigano addreses Vatican 2 and the NWO.

It seems apparent to me, that the end times are now....

In these extraordinary times, we hear a conspirator, Cardinal Godfried Daniels, tell us that since the dealth of John Paul 2, the Mafia of St. Gallen has been plotting to elect one of their own to St. Peters Chair, which later turned out to be Jorge Mario Bergoglio

Today's Caesar commands us to close Churches, wear a mask,..

Tomorrow a New Titus will sack the council temple, transporting it's remains to some museum, and divine vengeance at hands of pagans will be achieved once again

Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Bill Gates, Jeffrey Saaks, John Elkan,
^^^Interesting company Francis is keeping.

November is a big month for remembering and praying for the souls of those who have died and, as mentioned below, we are encouraged to pray for the deceased.

During the first week of November, we have an opportunity to REALLY help souls currently in purgatory by gaining indulgences (partial OR plenary) for them. The linked portions below discuss the practice with the bolded portions mentioning what specifically has to be done to secure indulgences.

https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/activities/view.cfm?id=1178

To clarify, in order to secure a plenary (remitting ALL temporal punishments) you must:

- Go to confession at least once 20 days before, 20 days after or during the period of Nov 1-8

- Take the Eucharist on the day the indulgence is being worked towards

- Visit a cemetery and pray for the dead on the day the indulgence is being worked towards

- Recite prayers (examples above) for the intentions of the Holy Father on the day the indulgence is being worked towards

- Must be in a state of grace and detached from sin on any day a work towards an indulgence is being performed

I'm going to try to address all of the requirements every day for the next week. If you're able to, try to take some time to help the waiting souls.
Bumping this post on how to receive indulgences this week.
Additionally, the timeline has been extended if you don't have easy access to the sacraments.

Great address by archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò on the Eve of the Election with some choice quotes.

I'm talking about the so-called conservatives... that is, a centeristic part, the is the ecclesiastical body, that ends up carrying water for the revolutionaries. Because while rejecting the excesses, it shares the same principles. The bottom line of this conformity on the part of the anti-church - the dominant ideology of the modern world - establishes a real cooperation with powerful representatives of the deep state.

Allow me a brief word about the political situation in the United States, on the eve of the Presidential Election. Fratelli Tutti seems to be a form of Vatican endorsement of the Democratic candidate in clear opposition to Donald Trump. A few days after Francis refused to grant an audience to the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in Rome. This confirms which side the Children of the Lie are on, and who the Children of Darkness are.

Jesse Lee Peterson gives a brief feature and discussion:

Two of my brothers in Christ and I visited a cemetery yesterday evening to pray for the souls in purgatory intending to offer for them a plenary indulgence. I strongly urge everyone to do it at least once this month, however, it's best to do it as often as possible as it has been extended throughout the month of November. Not only are we delivering their souls to Heaven, but you will most definitely gain a friend and intercessor by doing so. How incredible would it be to have this soul eternally grateful for your efforts and praying for you for the rest of your life and beyond should you go to purgatory as well? How awesome will it be to meet that stranger someday in Heaven?

It is unacceptable for any Catholic man to be sharing pornography like the post above does. This is true in any context, but it is scandalous to do it in a community of other Christians, and it is especially scandalous to do so in service of scoring cheap points against the Holy Father. I would have thought this was too obvious to need explaining.

More and more, I see among my Catholic brothers and sisters a spirit of disobedience that really troubles me. We are entitled to our opinions about our bishop, and about the successor to St. Peter, and about many other things. What we are not entitled to do is act like our respect for the Bishop of Rome, and for that matter the bishop of our diocese, is dependent on our subjective agreement with the way he discharges his episcopal duties, or for that matter anything else. "I know best" is the spirit of original sin: Why shouldn't I eat it?

If I remember correctly @Psalm27 is some kind of protestant who never tires to attack Catholicism.
