The moment that everybody knew would come: the vibrants in Brussels have started smashing up police cars. Two days ago a 19 year old guy died in an accident that involved a cop car. Apparantly he sped away from a police control and was hit by a police car approaching from the other side whilst overtaking a van

Ramadan is just around the corner. I strongly suspect they will ease the nationwide restrictions just before the start of Ramadan, or they will silently turn a blind eye to any social gatherings in vibrant areas

I cannot think of a city, the master enclave of pointy-shoed socialist EU technocrats, better suited to reap what it has sown.

Then again, for all I know, they are probably watching from their gated homes in the hills, sipping champagne, and chuckling.

Question: Does anyone have a brand/model recommendation for a blood Oximeter? It seems like a very helpful tool to have in the home. I want a high-quality, accurate one. I don't want to take the risk and get a bad reading on a crappy one. Suggestions are most appreciated.
Hey, I think you should go for a well known german brand, like Bosch. I bought my from Beurer, a cheaper german outfit.

While germany is not perfect in regulatory oversight, they are still top of the list. I'd probably prefer swedish if you can get it. Yes, Sweden Yes, but they have very strict regulations there. Safety first, always in Sweden.

Scabies acquired in the hospital or nursing home.

There's a scabies epidemic in Europe and it's become non-treatable with the usual creams. I bet it's gone out of control because no one considers it during covid.

Dermatologists in France Report COVID-19 Symptoms on Skin
By Lynn Allison | Thursday, 09 April 2020 04:57 PM

We know fever, fatigue, a dry cough, and shortness of breath are the most common symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, but now dermatologists in France have found the virus can cause unusual manifestations on the skin that might signal infection.

According to the New York Post, the French National Union of Dermatologists-Venereologists (SNDV), found dermatological signs like pseudo-frostbite, hives, and persistent redness have been associated with COVID-19. The sudden redness can be painful, said the doctors.

"We are alerting the public and the medical profession in order to detect these potentially contagious patients as quickly as possible," the SNDV said in a press release.

The doctors advised patients to seek medical consultations in the event they experience such symptoms.

According to The Hospitalist, skin manifestations were also observed in one-fifth of a group of patients with COVID-19 in the Alessandro Manzoni Hospital in Lecco, in northern Italy.

Dermatologists were pulled from their regular duties to observe the unusual symptoms in 148 COVID-19 patients. They found 20.5% developed skin manifestations, according to The Hospitalist.

Some patients exhibited skin eruptions at the onset of the disease while others developed them after hospitalization. The doctors found that 78% of the patients with skin symptoms had red rashes while others had widespread urticaria — round, red welts on the skin that can itch intensely. The trunk of the body was the most commonly affected area.

In the U.S., Randy Jacobs, MD, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, Riverdale, confirmed we have seen similar symptoms here in America, says The Hospitalist.

"Many have wondered if COVID-19 presents with any particular skin changes," he said. "The answer is yes."

Jacobs had a 67-year-old patient come in with a painful purple ulcer, called a livedoid vascular eruption on his right thigh, and blood in his urine. His COVID-19 test came back positive and then he developed the typical signs of dry cough and hacking.

According to the Post, if you are experiencing any sort of skin issue, you should contact your doctor because all dermatological matters need to be treated regardless of other medical conditions.

Noting some other reports that the China virus compromises an individuals immune system.
I wonder if other symptoms such as skin disorders are a result of said compromised immune system?

It's an upper respiratory disorder! It's a deep lung disorder! It's a blood disorder! It makes you sterile! It steals your sense of taste! It steals your sense of smell! It'll stop you from ever exercising again! Antibodies can't cure it! It lives in the nerves! It's SARS! It's AIDS!

Man, Coronavirus does EVERYTHING! Whatever Chinese guy built this thing deserves a raise.

Either that, or early small-sample-size reports are unreliable and can be ignored.

If gibs become attached to Coronavirus, though, you can expect the virus to be responsible for as many ailments as Agent Orange supposedly is. Or was. But that's another story.

The latest Chyna Flu deaths from Worldometer

4/8. 14,811, +1,963 or 15% from prior day
4/9. 16,712, +1,901 or 13% from prior day
4/10. 18,747, +2,035 or 12% from prior day

The daily growth rate is trending down. At 12%, deaths double every six days.

Today’s growth of 2,035 is a record high though. Supposedly, modeling is saying today is the apex and we should see the number of new deaths decline from here on out.
An apex can only occur due to under these conditions:
1. Those that could be infected have all been infected.
2. Widespread testing and hospitalization (regular hospitals, modular hospitals, field hospitals etc. any hospital is better than no hospital) to prevent further community spread.
3. Large quantities of medical staff infected lowering the testing capacity.

The truth is no. 2 is unmet, many suspected cases that should be tested remain untested, public transport networks are still crowded and unhygienic, most of the patients are self-quarantining (family members still likely to be infected to continue community spread), and on top of that, hospital staff continue to find themselves running short of supplies. Many of them were infected. The CDC has yet to collect their stuff, compile the data to issue a standard guideline to the treatment of the disease. Each hospital has their own way of tackling the Coronavirus. Most importantly, the positive rate remain horrifying high, meaning the amount of testing is still inadequate.

And we are supposed to be entering the apex? Don’t even think about that, I’ll be content if we enter an Italian plateau.

As I take a step back and comment from a neutral viewpoint, it is much more likely the they said that just to end the lockdown. It is quite apparent we are on the brink of mass rioting in the cities. The US can’t keep the quarantine going with 16 million unemployed only 3 weeks into the lockdown. Throw in “the best week of the Dow” and you know it’s a ploy for the oligarchs to short the markets for one final time.

Assume the models will break due to the way they've changed their recording. Also, they can't have it trending down now because too many people are going to be literally torn limb from limb by angry mobs if it gets out that this was bullshit.

Anyway, thank you for posting these daily numbers, they're a good way to keep track of the overall picture.
Dear Samuel, that’s quite the extravagant about turn, isn’t it?

Re: “Corona does everything!”

If it’s actually causing O2 deprivation that would in fact make it “do everything” because that could potentially kill off any organ especially those like the testes which are particularly sensitive to disruption.

In other words it doesn’t actually do everything but there’s a single root cause that makes it look like it does; assuming it actually does inhibit red blood cells.

You're all free to discard anything I say:

It looks like the Australian media yesterday has finally discovered Comorbidities are a factor, nine weeks after the Chinese, and about seven weeks after it labelled stopping Neurofen as a 'crazy conspiracy theory'.

Anyway, I noticed this yesterday:

According to a new study, only one of these symptoms can be indicative of severe disease, but only when combined with two other signs which require hospitalization. Per AFP, researchers from the US and China used AI to analyze data from 53 coronavirus patients across two hospitals in Wenzhou, China.

The algorithms discovered three changes in the body that precipitate severe illness: Body aches, levels of enzyme alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and hemoglobin levels. ALT is a liver enzyme that’s tested to measure liver function and diagnose liver failure. Hemoglobin testing is part of the standard blood work you get when admitted to the hospital.

The AI figured out these three features were the most accurate at predicting a severe COVID-19 case. The algorithm showed a 70%-80% accuracy at predicting the risk of acute respiratory disease syndrome (ARDS). ARDS is the COVID-19 complication that fills the lungs with fluid and kills some 50% of patients who get it.

Other symptoms, including particular patterns in lung imaging, fever, and strong immune responses, were not useful at predicting whether a mild case could worsen to ARDS:
About alanine aminotransferase (ALT), it can be used to measure Glycated Hemoglobin (chemical sugars). Measuring this has many uses for identifying specific disorders, such as Diabetes. High ALT suggests liver issues whilst High AST might suggest other bodily issues, whilst a measured ratio between both can be measured for, say, Sickle Cell Anemia.

High ALT can also suggest Hemolysis, where the red blood cell wall ruptures and releases its contents into the bloodstream, which can happen via multiple ways, all of which sound like something that could be easily designed to target red blood cells.

Back to elevated ALT, with regards to Glycated Hemoglobin:

Glycated hemoglobin causes an increase of highly reactive free radicals inside blood cells. Radicals alter blood cell membrane properties. This leads to blood cell aggregation and increased blood viscosity, which results in impaired blood flow.

Another way glycated Hb causes damage is via inflammation, which results in atherosclerotic plaque (atheroma) formation. Free-radical build-up promotes the excitation of Fe2+-Hb through Fe3+-Hb into abnormal ferryl Hb (Fe4+-Hb). Fe4+ is unstable and reacts with specific amino acids in Hb to regain its Fe3+ oxidation state. Hb molecules clump together via cross-linking reactions, and these Hb clumps (multimers) promote cell damage and the release of Fe4+-Hb into the matrix of innermost layers (subendothelium) of arteries and veins. This results in increased permeability of interior surface (endothelium) of blood vessels and production of pro-inflammatory monocyte adhesion proteins, which promote macrophage accumulation in blood vessel surfaces, ultimately leading to harmful plaques in these vessels.

Highly glycated Hb-AGEs go through vascular smooth muscle layer and inactivate acetylcholine-induced endothelium-dependent relaxation, possibly through binding to nitric oxide (NO), preventing its normal function. NO is a potent vasodilator and also inhibits formation of plaque-promoting LDLs (i.e. “bad cholesterol”) oxidized form.

This overall degradation of blood cells also releases heme from them. Loose heme can cause oxidation of endothelial and LDL proteins, which results in plaques.
So Ferrous is excited into Iron then becomes Ferryl which wrecks the blood cells. This would trigger the a heightened immune response, and an out of control inflammatory cytokine storm follows. No oxygen to organs, white blood cells attack its own systems, cascade. The two articles I linked last week highlighted the problem with Iron not being filtered out of the body, and why Vitamin C was recommended to prevent Sepsis and ARDS.

Once again, I'd refer back to this article from 2015:

https://www.nature.com/articles/nm.3985

As someone describes it:

North Carolina specifically reports that using the Wuhan bat virus they created a chimera, meaning one that would infect humans, and tested its leathlity. In the Intel business we call that bio-weapons testing, done in the lab of course. And you all know what the next step is. Second the funding by USAID was left out of the first online publication as that was a direct CIA funding tie in, but that was later remedied. And the US Army bio division provided equipment needed to conduct the study.
Thanks, (((America)))!

Still, God has a sense of humour. If you start looking into the articles, it seems that the usual suspects are at a much greater risk of this virus. I mean, look at AIPAC. Note, England did a large study and measured measured them as 8x more likely to die than the general population.

Meanwhile, in New York:

NEW YORK (JTA) — Four heavily Orthodox neighborhoods in Brooklyn have especially high rates of the novel coronavirus, according to data released by this city’s Department of Health.

The record of positive COVID-19 tests in the five boroughs shows that Borough Park, Crown Heights, Williamsburg and Midwood all have above-average positive test rates. In Borough Park, more than 67% of coronavirus tests have come back positive — the highest rate in Brooklyn and sixth-highest of any Zip code in New York City.

In Crown Heights, 63.4% of tests are positive, while in Williamsburg the figure is 62.5% and in Midwood it is 60.3%. The average positive test rate across the city is 53%.

The five city Zip codes with the highest positive test rates are in Queens, with the Corona neighborhood topping the list at more than 77%. Many of those neighborhoods are home to working-class New Yorkers whose jobs do not allow them to stay home.

Borough Park also has the third-highest raw number of positive tests of any neighborhood in the city with 771, and total tests with 1,146. In both cases, it’s behind only Corona and Elmhurst, adjacent neighborhoods in Queens.

An analysis by The City, a local New York publication, found that testing across neighborhoods has been proportional to their populations. Social distancing has been a particularly stark shift for Hasidic Jews, who make up a significant share of the population in Borough Park, Williamsburg and Crown Heights.

Haredi, or ultra-Orthodox, men are accustomed to attending communal prayers three times a day, and social lives revolve around synagogue and lifecycle celebrations like weddings. Haredi families are also larger than average and tend to live in dense neighborhoods in the city.

In some haredi neighborhoods, social distancing measures like school closings came later than in the rest of the city.

Israel is experiencing an even more extreme phenomenon, as more than a third of the total population of the haredi city of Bnei Brak is estimated to have coronavirus, according to the Times of Israel.
Note also that the the Israeli Health Minister has it, who is known and despised in Israel for protecting multiple child sex-offenders within the Orthodox community.

f the US spends 450M and China $42 million with WHO. The only way China can have WHO on their pocket is if they bribed them all. US should have spent 300M and give 150M in cash to the Ethiopian and his sect. For fuck sake Trump is a developer or a boy scout?

This chinese virus fuckup have names.

Malta is the second country in Europe with less chinese virus cases. 370 cases at the moment.

Official Spanish bulletin of CV in page 5 until recently didn´t include Malta in it´s list of european countries with CV. I´ve actually mentioned this to my wife. And at the time atributed it to incompetence of spanish authorities.

'New hope': Queen reassures nation in first Easter message

The Queen has sought to reassure the nation that “coronavirus will not overcome us” in her first Easter audio message.

The monarch, who is supreme governor of the Church of England, acknowledged this Easter would be different but said “by keeping apart we keep others safe”. She said “Easter is not cancelled” and the “new hope and fresh purpose” of the festival was needed more than ever.

With no Easter services being held in churches, the message is said to be her contribution to those marking the celebration privately at home.

“Many religions have festivals which celebrate light overcoming darkness. Such occasions are often accompanied by the lighting of candles. They seem to speak to every culture, and appeal to people of all faiths, and of none. They are lit on birthday cakes and to mark family anniversaries, when we gather happily around a source of light. It unites us,” she said.

“As darkness falls on the Saturday before Easter Day, many Christians would normally light candles together. In church, one light would pass to another, spreading slowly and then more rapidly as more candles are lit. It’s a way of showing how the good news of Christ’s resurrection has been passed on from the first Easter by every generation until now.”

It is the Queen’s first Easter message. It is understood she chose to release it on Easter Saturday so as not to overshadow traditional Easter messages from religious leaders. The audio message was recorded at Windsor castle, using similar precautions to protect the 93-year-old monarch as those deployed for her rare televised address last week.

She recorded it in the White Drawing Room with the sound engineer in the next room. As with the broadcast, the equipment had been set up before the recording and appropriately cleaned before she came into contact with it.

She said: “This year, Easter will be different for many of us but by keeping apart we keep others safe. But Easter isn’t cancelled; indeed, we need Easter as much as ever. The discovery of the risen Christ on the first Easter Day gave his followers new hope and fresh purpose, and we can all take heart from this.

“We know that coronavirus will not overcome us. As dark as death can be – particularly for those suffering with grief – light and life are greater. May the living flame of the Easter hope be a steady guide as we face the future.”

Oh no, Kona got coronavirus and now he can't spell!

Yeah the numbers are mysteriously going up, presumably due to a change in testing policies.
Everybody's scared. Everything's closing. Pretty annoyed.

Thankfully it'll break sooner here than it did in the US, since the only reason people are panicking here is because the US is panicking, and the US is ready to start opening up again.

So they made Japan to bow eventually and they will make them bow in the future, Japan is too developed, too industrialized, too wealthy to be left alone. Unlike lonely, non-strategic Iceland. There is very little to be gained in Iceland.
