The highly visible wealth divide in places like SF and NYC fuels a lot of progressive policies. Unfortunately too many people project that worldview onto the whole of America and call for more Marxism at a national level, completely oblivious that they are dealing with a problem mainly concentrated in their own deep blue cities.
 
They already are. You're seeing places like Singapore take advantage by massively raising the required investment for residency by investment programs.
 


BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Baltimore City Schools has reached an alarming low in student performance. Project Baltimore has learned, during the first three quarters of this year, nearly half of high school students in City Schools earned a grade point average below a D.

When Jovani Patterson ran for Baltimore City Council President last year, he ran on a platform that included accountability in education.

“They take. They take. They take. Yet, despite the amount of money they get. We don’t see much change. Our schools outspend 97% of other major school districts,” Patterson said during a 2020 campaign ad.


In January, City Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises first sounded the alarm, announcing the course failure rate for students nearly doubled during the Covid shutdown. A few months later, in May, North Avenue announced students would not be held back for failing classes. This most recent GPA data could indicate why City Schools made that decision.

The author is a British economist and has done extensive research on migration. In the book, he basically shows under which conditions migration can be beneficial for a Western nation and under which it will rather accelerate the decline of the host nation.
Needless to say, his findings are pretty obvious but nevertheless, it is a very good read. He summarizes some interesting studies. Among them, the Putnam study from the NYT article above.

This guy, Putnam, is a hardcore Harvard Liberal. He conducted the largest social study ever done in the US. His point was to prove that diversity was indeed our strength. Well, his finding showed a completely different picture. He was so horrified by the results that he didn't believe them. Thus, he included more markers into his study, hoping that by digging deeper, the picture would change. It didn't. In fact, it became clearer and clearer that diversity = disaster on many social levels. Since this went against his bias, he considered not publishing his study. Eventually he did, though.

Another study cited looked at the diplomatic personnel of the UN in NYC. They gathered data on which nation's drivers would pay the parking meters. Since they have diplomatic immunity, none of the drivers have to pay them. The outcome, surprise surprise, was that drivers from countries like Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, etc. hardly paid them, while drivers from countries like Norway, Germany or Japan would pay up.

The author makes the point that you cannot import a bunch of people from such nations and expect them to comply to our Western norms. By not regulating their influx, he argues, they'll destroy the host nation's social fabric if they reach a certain threshold in the population. Basically, what we are witnessing right now in many Western nations.

I have an aside providing data. A lot of it is used by social scientists and I am aware that not only are they almost all liberals (leftists), but the research is almost invariably social justice. I guess the most likely outcome is I am making money on them not publish their research.
 
I went to an event in San Diego and decided to try using the bus. I thought the bus would be more convenient because the parking would be hassle and it was only a 15 minutes ride. I was coming back at 9 pm. I wanted to get a better look at the street signs so I could see where to get off. I moved to the front and sat down. There was this black derelict looking guy that turned around and started screaming at me. He screamed that I didn’t have my mask over my nose, and started quoting laws, threatening me and throwing his fits in the air to show he can fight. He kept screaming threats while I pulled the cord that rings the bell for the bus to stop but the cord didn’t work. So, I hollered at the bus driver to stop and finally got off at my stop.

I noticed that the buses in San Diego are basically used by derelicts and homeless to get from place to place, and they are not safe for normal people. When I lived in Europe, the mass transit was used by normal people and everything is safe and pleasant.

This is how all mass transit in the US is used, in every major city I have been to. Public transportation is just homeless/black/criminal transportation. The governing authorities love to create and expand these networks for this element to spread the love. When the city bus or the metro rail comes to your part of town, you get enriched.
