The Donald Trump thread

Bannon is such an alpha widow who can't let go.
Bannon got publicly fired from his white house job by Trump without a proper send off, or even a thank you.
I love your use of pickup language to describe men.

Really speaks a great degree of your analysis.

Let me separate some signal from your noise and give context:

Bannon doesn't care about the messenger; he cares about the populist message. Thats been his agenda with his show since leaving the Trump cabinet from DAY 1.

Speaks a lot more to his character and vision for the country than it does anything else.

Bannon didn't like Kushner, so he bounced. Trump knows that. Bannon Knows Trump Knows that. The fact that Bannon has remained loyal is becuase he sees Trump as a tool for the populist agenda. Bannon and Peter Navarro have bagged on Kushner relentlessly.

Trump is leaning into his populist agenda appeal. Bannon is the vessel to align that message.

These are ALL good things for populism regardless of disdain for Trump or not.

Trump: "I'm not going to participate in any debates, because the mainstream media moderators won't give me a fair shake!"

Also Trump: Trump to Participate in CNN Town Hall on May 10.

It's going to become increasingly apparent over the coming year that the media WANT Trump to be the Republican nominee, and will actively play their part to boost him, because:

1) He is ratings dynamite
2) They simply love to hate him
3) They regard him as unelectable in the general vs. Biden, and will take great pleasure in watching him lose again

In contrast, DeSantis is boring, uncharismatic, low-drama and infinitely more threatening to the leftist agenda if elected, so they will gladly assist in Trump's dirty work of trying to dispose of him in the primary.

^ Seems like a bit of a stretch to call him unelectable when he won the last one when you account for massive fraud/ballot harvesting. If you're framing your argument as "the public would accept the story of a Trump defeat more readily than a DeSantis defeat" than I suppose one could say that, but I don't see why that's worth talking about.

Until the elections get sorted out none of this really matters. Every republican legislator and governor should be working around the clock to prevent cheating this go 'round, but they aren't.

You've hit upon one of my biggest problems with Trump. If the 2020 election was blatantly stolen (which we all know it was), primarily through the use of fraudulent mail-in ballots being stuffed into ballot boxes in the dark of night in Democrat stronghold cities like Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, etc..

...then why didn't Trump use his influence to immediately begin organizing legislative reforms across the country in the wake of the election to prevent these sort of shenanigans from ever happening again? Why didn't he start mobilizing Republican legislatures and raising money for ad campaigns demanding election reform? Why wasn't he barnstorming and rallying across the country in service of this cause? This seems like a pretty obvious move if you've just had an election blatantly stolen from you, and if you lack the courage to fight the steal more directly by refusing to hand over power. But Trump did neither of these things. He literally just complained about it on social media. He's still complaining about it on social media.

Take your pick:

1) The man is either incapable of solving the problem, or
2) The man is unwilling to solve the problem

Either way, I have no reason to believe that Trump is willing or able to fight when the chips are down. He's demonstrated that to me very clearly.

Because states were already doing it on their own, in large part thanks to Trump making voters aware.

Why didn't he start mobilizing Republican legislatures and raising money for ad campaigns demanding election reform? Why wasn't he barnstorming and rallying across the country in service of this cause?

Where were you in the 2022 primaries? The issue of election fraud dominated every Republican primary in America, and candidates who said 2020 was stolen did extremely well in comparison to those who said the election is not stolen.

That is one (of many) reasons why DeSantis continues to sink in the polls, because he wouldn't dare criticize our sacred democracy.

In the last week we've seen Trump support Disney and now CNN. What's next? Bruce Jenner hanging at Mar a Lago? Oh wait that already happened as well. Looks like anything is possible even Hillary being no longer crooked according to Trump. Wild
No you're just spinning. He said he's retiring that from Hilary since she's no longer a threat and it's now more applicable to Biden.

Come on man!

I don't get the wining about him not going to a debate with Nobody worth talking to (Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramalamadingdong, and I don't know who else) and yet going on CNN to do a town hall.

I suppose you DONT want him to get out there and get visibility.

Youd rather just support DeSantis who's signing bills affecting free speech for Floridians in Israel.

Doh!

Trump: "I'm not going to participate in any debates, because the mainstream media moderators won't give me a fair shake!"

Also Trump: Trump to Participate in CNN Town Hall on May 10.

Finally had time to read this article. I think there are three things going on here.

1. Trump will be talking directly to voters, not debating a moderator in a Town Hall.
2. CNN may have gotten a monopoly or sweetheart deal over Town Halls in New Hampshire, in which case Trump has no choice but to go on CNN or lose out on visibility with NH's early primary status.
3. CNN may have offered Trump a lot of money.
EDIT:
4. CNN may be no worse than FOX nowadays!

A senior Trump adviser told the Daily Caller's Henry Rodgers: "President Trump is running to be President for all Americans. Going outside the traditional Republican ‘comfort zone’ was a key to President Trump’s success in 2016. Some other candidates are too afraid to take this step in their quest to defeat Joe Biden, and are afraid to do anything other than Fox News. CNN executives made a compelling pitch."

A compelling pitch? You can only wonder how they sweetened the pot for Trump. But I do wonder if CNN has some kind of deal with NH, evidenced by the fact the Governor of NH is doing a LOT of CNN interviews over the past 6 months:

Finally, has anyone been following the Tucker Carlson saga? FOX is jumping the shark and going full left-wing NeoCon politics. The Trump campaign may not see any significant difference between CNN and FOX because the leadership of FOX is so bad, and CNN has rid itself of Zuckerberg. FOX and CNN will probably be equally bad this cycle, so cable news will always be a wash no matter where a candidate goes, Trump or otherwise.

I don't think Trump simply chose CNN, it seems rather obvious CNN has a lot of leverage here and Trump will not merely be arguing with a moderator.

The Trump influencers lie or embellish all too often. Witzke on Twitter said the same as this guy: Trump gonna give $ to white victims. He never says that. And even if he followed through on this rhetorical red meat (I highly doubt this ever happens) that $ would go to mainly Asians as they suffer the effects of affirmative action way more than whites.

He's a clever guy; come up with another pejorative for Biden. Hillary is still crooked - nothing's changed.

He wraps CNN for years but now does an exclusive Town Hall with them. Whatever it's Trump so not surprised. Now imagine if RDS had done a townhall with CNN and what Trump would say.

Desantis signed one bill in Israel. Good bill actually with a lame title and unfortunately signed in the wrong country. Like Trump, Desantis is a politician, alas.

Did you see all the based legislation he's signed the last few days? Dare I say, the most based legislation I've ever seen actually signed into law.

Hey what's your take on Desantis vs. Disney? If you say you actually support the righteous cause of RDS against that satanic pedophile company I won't say anything and would virtually tip my hat. In fact, if you do I'll reply with a nice something about Trump.

A good bill?

Are you serious? The bill de-facto bans billeting and is written so badly that leftists will be wielding this thing like a sledgehammer in their districts.

Yep, the bill reads that anyone who carries litter onto private property faces potential civil or criminal penalties. So what counts as litter? If I bring a Bible to a synagogue, and leave the Bible somewhere on the premises, I could be facing fines or even criminal hate crime charge thanks to (((DeSantis))).

You know due to the vague wording of that bill it will be abused six ways to Sunday.

Section 4. Section 810.098, Florida Statutes, is created 128 to read: 129 810.098 Trespass for the purpose of threatening or 130 intimidating another person.— 131 (1)(a) Whoever, without being authorized, licensed, or 132 invited, willfully enters the campus of a state university or 133 Florida College System institution for the purpose of 134 threatening or intimidating another person, and is warned by the 135 state university or Florida College System institution to depart 136 and refuses to do so, commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, 137 punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. 138 (b) If the penalty for a violation of this subsection is 139 reclassified under s. 775.085, such a violation is considered a 140 hate crime for purposes of the reporting requirements of s. 141 877.19.

I'm going to laugh when Democrats in charge of these universities call the cops on Republicans who canvass on campus, claiming they are intimidating and threatening others.

This bill completely kills free speech in a number of situations and will be used to solidify the woke takeover of Universities all over Florida.

What a smart governor!!! Data driven!

On private property so yeah you can't go into the local mosque and slaughter a pig. The trannies can't go into a Catholic church and disrupt service. I can't go into the parking lot of a synagogue (private property) and put flyers saying jews should burn or whatever. If Jewish guy's car is parked on street flyer is good. Also, if I'm invited by a college group to speak on Jewish banking practices Antifa can't disrupt my speech as this law addresses that. When the legislation was first introduced it was garbage but was changed in committee to be good for our side despite the title. Read below more detail. In a nutshell, Desantis took a lemon and made lemonade.
