If that's the case (and I suppose it's certainly a possibility) then it would necessarily imply one of the following:
1) They are confident that Trump will be completely powerless in office, and intend to sabotage him and use him as a fall guy for some terrible upcoming event (Economic collapse? New COVID? Mass vax death depopulation?)
2) They intend to assassinate him in office and blame it on China or Russia to gin up patriotic fervor for WW3
3) Trump is in on their game, and his entire political career is merely a worked spectacle similar to professional wrestling, in which he plays either the ultimate babyface or heel depending on your perception
I think 1) and 2) are much more likely possibilities. But I think it's more likely still that they just intend to steal the election again.
It's the number 1 option that I'm afraid of. Even if Trump is not entirely powerless in office, they can stir up enough hysteria to get people to accept something like you mentioned. Trump only has 4 years after all, unless he can pull a Putin and grab power permanently. Very unlikely, and he's also to old for that.
