The End Of Roosh Hour

Hi Roosh, I was so looking forward to the next Roosh hour. It’s by far my most favorite podcast. I am so disappointed. Your monthly talks helped me in so many ways. It’s because of listening to you that I have become wonderfully interested in the Greek Orthodox religion and that has had a profound affect in my life and journey to know God. I have purchased most of the books you have recommended and listen to the Morning Prayers and other things associated with them, daily. So thank you for that.
Your particular take on the world events helped me to understand and process things with a much better perspective. Your view of things made me feel like I wasn’t crazy. I so appreciated hearing your opinion on everything along with a bit a humor from time to time. I would humbly and respectfully as you to reconsider your decision. Or perhaps come up with a compromise of some sort. Maybe a smaller, patreon style option, or zoom call, etc., there are many other options that may not interfere with your principles. Keep in mind the idea of emotions never being a good way to make decisions. Not saying that you have done that. just something to consider ?
Again, thank you for your generosity in doing these broadcasts and know that your voice is needed and necessary to a large contingent of people who gain an incredible amount of clarity and even comfort from your wonderfully constructed podcasts.

Hey Roosh. I will miss Roosh Hour. As you can see in all of the posts, so many people just love you and love hearing your voice.

I understand that it has sapped your energy and brought you closer to darkness and that you want to avoid this.

.. However, as some others have suggested, how about a short pre-recorded video now and then? 5 or 6 hours was always too long anyway.

Your new short vids could be called "Babylon Dirt Road" or "Babylon Parking Lot"... example; if you went into a mall and witnessed something funny or weird, you could just go back to your car and flip out your phone, and just talk about it for a couple of minutes.

This wouldn't require any fancy editing. You could just upload it later. People would LOVE to watch it.

I remember back in like 2017 or 2018 Roosh put up a YouTube video called "What Should I do For a Living?" or something; this was in the beginning stages of his transformation. I will say the same thing I said then: Roosh is most akin to a younger version of E Michael Jones. Therefore, although not completely mirroring Jones' strategy of publishing+books+magazine+interviews, I think if Roosh wants to continue on primarily as a writer (which seems to be his foremost professional passion), he might do well to try to borrow as much from the Jones' strategy as possible. Therefore, longform writing and topical interviews where Roosh is the expert being interviewed, would probably be a nice sweet spot. The whole publishing thing, I know nothing about.

Communication mediums are significant; Debate is much different than public speaking. Texting is much different than email. Phone calls are much different than in-person or even Skype. Matthew Raphael Johnson has often mentioned the errors of public speaking, how it heavily favors the quick-wit and the adrenaline junky as opposed to the sober, methodical, well-thought out person. Writing is an art form far superior to posting videos in many ways. Lent has caused me myself to look at my faults more closely, and I realize I text too much in group chats, often about recent events. It saps you of your creative energy, it makes you an adrenaline junky, and you're just looking for the next quip or zinger, for the next rush. I have now experimented with just leaving my phone at home and ignoring it altogether, transitioning to a healthier mindset. It allows you to better concentrate your energies elsewhere.

Roosh seems to be absolutely doing the right thing here, and I hope he is able to reinvigorate his other passions as a result, and follow his gut professionally. In gardening, when you selectively prune certain branches from a shrub, it allows the remaining buds of the plant to flower that much more spectacularly.

Well said.

The first Roosh streams were great and I would watch them all.

But people mature, and I found myself skipping through them - and eventually just listening to the intro to hear Roosh again.

There is a hook in the whole "influencer" thing, where if you have a youtube, instagram, podcast or what ever, you're incentivized to do anything to increase the payout, be it money, fame, power, world things... what ever more.

More outrageous, more skin, more scams, more gore, more money, more diabolic, more hours, more for the world, more closed loop amplification between audience and influencer until (if you let it) you're a creation of your audience.

Commentating on the world can only serve the world. And this is what I think Roosh realized.

This is such a huge loss because there are so few of you out there who know the truth and are willing to talk about it.
You and so very few others are the only voices that know the truth out there and are willing to talk about it
I beg you to stay.

I stopped listening to your Roosh Hour months and months ago. I found them way too negative and black-pilled. They would put me into a really bad mood after listening to them, and I would take out that anger on my loved ones. I'm glad that you are deciding to end them. They were a vestige of your secular life, and are no longer needed.

I don't think you should permanently give up the spoken medium, though. You could do audiobooks, or pre-recorded podcasts or videos on different religious topics. I think the 5-10 minute podcast format would suit you well.
It’s called living in reality. Being a monk is a selfish exercise like a bhuddist.

And we wonder why the jews and muslims, et al, always win.

What the establishment and their pet freaks could never do, roosh did to himself, destroy a community that could have brought self respect for men and challenge the establishment and its plans.

With censorship closing ever more by these same people, it’s unlikely a similar group will ever form. OAN was just kicked off verizon and rogan is being silenced. Russia was just canceled.

It’s not just a private person internet phenomenon anymore.

I just rewatched one of the older Roosh Hours where Roosh puts up a powerpoint of the coming years from March 2020 on, and talks about trials that are coming our way. It was so inspiring to me as a fledgling Christian, just knowing that we will have to accept suffering and "God is allowing this to happen" for our benefit. I just randomly picked that Roosh Hour and that whole powerpoint shows up, like a message meant just for me in my current state wondering about the comings months and years. I think it was from August 2021.

So, don't feel as if you can't just put up brief, scripted videos where you outline something that you feel is important, whether it is political or spiritual. I draw courage and inspiration from these messages, and I'm sure a lot of others do too. I definitely understand how you feel about doing the "news of the week" type of broadcast where you have to dwell on the evil and negativity surrounding us - that's a relic of your secular past for sure. But carefully picked, scripted messages that outline some message to your followers... I definitely feel as if there's still a place for that.

Saddened by this news. I understand though, if it meddles with your spiritual life, better to quit it for good.

I just want to say that even though almost everything is bad news, my perception of your opinion was an optimistic one, with us focusing on what's important, looking for the salvation of our soul and the Kingdom of God. That all this doom is meant to be this way, that Jesus also suffered in the Cross.

You striving to be a good Christian makes a difference between you and the other people out there telling the truth. To be honest, listening to the news through your glass is bearable, not quite with the secular alternative news outlets.

I'm of the same opinion as other readers that maybe making short podcasts and/or pre-recorded with a single subject it could be easier to keep yourself under control. You can count on the prayers of a lot of people out here... Whatever it takes to have you back :) joke aside, I wish you the best and hope you to overcome the worldly temptations.

It is your talks about devotion which I've enjoyed most...
  • Your stories of overcoming temptation,
  • Wise words from books you are reading,
  • The disavowal of what is fake and gay,
  • Your love of simple things like birds and bread.
A rare chance to spend time with an intelligent, truth-seeking person.
One who is not swayed by trends.

...Thus it is perfect that the stream would halt to further your spiritual health.

Many are swayed by the temptations of world-ly success...
We must focus both eyes on spiritual cleanliness above all else, with growing determination.

This passage from the Epistle of James says it well:

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all, without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.
10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.

11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.
15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.

17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of all he created.

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror
24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

I respect your devotion, no matter how imperfect (as my own has been imperfect).

May the new space this creates in your life provide new clarity and wisdom.

Thank you for being a friend on the narrow path.

Roosh, your writing is very good and so is your video presentations. I wonder if a priest delivering a sermon would have the same prideful bump when the pulpits are full. Our problem is in this busy world, we don't have the time to read as much as we have time to listen. Perhaps you could do an audio book style version of your articles?

You are generalizing.

No, it wasn't too much for me and I wouldn't generally describe current affairs as negative.
Besides, you always had the choice of not watching the Roosh Hours, therefore, I do not understand your whining.

I'm missing Roosh Hour 74 - The Russian-Ukrainian War

Great article. It honestly made me miss the Roosh Hour streams, as I couldn't help but feel they gave you more reach than just text alone. I doubt I'm alone in hoping you come back to the audio/video world in some form in the near future, but obviously in a way that better shields you from temptations.

God bless you Roosh.

Ok, the Roosh Hour has been gone.

But how about Roosh On Current Affairs - ROCA?
You would still talk to the computer but it's not a live show so you can edit it before the upload.
