Brittany Zamora, 29, was jailed for 20 years, but she is now believed to have been grooming a second child victim, promising to send him nudes and asking about his genitalia,
The Sun reports.
The former Arizona teacher
has now also filed for divorce against her husband, Daniel, less than a year into her sentence, relinquishing her rights to the family home and shared properties.
In the divorce documents, she wrote that “our marriage is broken beyond repair (‘irretrievably broken’) and there is no hope of reconciliation”.
The pair had been together since they were 16 and
he remained completely loyal to her throughout the prosecution.
It’s unclear whether Daniel Zamora knew the full extent of what was happening between his wife and the student prior to her arrest and conversations that included the victim’s father indicated that Mr Zamora thought the relationship wasn’t physical according to
AZ Central.
Mr Zamora was never charged for crimes related to the case, yet he remained by his wife’s side even after she admitted to having sex with the boy in court.
FIRM BACKING
During the investigation, Mr Zamora allegedly called the victim’s father in defence of his wife despite learning of his wife’s crime to say that Brittany had made a mistake, but that she loved children.
He reportedly asked the victim’s family to handle the situation out of court, adding that they should “meet up” and “settle this”, according to court documents.
At the time of her arrest, he told cops: “Brittany is an adult. She’s the best, the best person I’ve ever known.”
Mr Zamora was also sued by the parents of Brittany’s victim for failing to alert authorities after he learned of the ongoing molestation, which was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
A police report alleged that Mr Zamora coached his wife on how to handle their investigation during an initial phone call between her and her victim’s parents following the discovery of her illicit messages to their son.
