Let me put it like this, if you were a benevolent philosopher king running society and you had to choose between allowing prostitution or allowing pornography, you always pick prostitution.

Prostitution doesn't scale, it's cost-prohibitive for the majority of men and it's naturally kept in check by social shaming and societal stigma/taboo. It has also been around since the beginning of time and civilization itself, in every place, and evidently didn't prevent the rise of successful, healthy societies following the natural order. We can see this simply by opening a history book.

Pornography on the other hand is a completely different ball game and far more destructive. Due to modern technology it's easily reproducible, ubiquitous, easy to access and basically free. Worst of all, consumption is completely anonymous and there's no natural checks and balances placed upon it. We also have no historical examples regarding the extent of its harmful effects on society, as the sheer scale of it all is unprecedented.
There's also one major difference between the two: prostitution is active, whereas porn is passive. With porn, it just comes to your screen, and you can just swipe through it. No effort needed. But prostitution, you have to actively go out of your way to partake of it. Either you physically go to the whorehouse or you order a prostitute to come to your door, but in both cases you have to get up and move around to do it. And then there's the act itself, and while I have personally never used a prostitute, I've heard stories and it's still very much an emotionally involved situation. Men have insecurities too, and these insecurities like to mess with his mind even when he's about to get it on with someone he's paying for sex. Whole different ball game there than porn.

So yeah, I totally agree with you.

Although if I were a benevolent philosopher king, I wouldn't exactly "allow" prostitution, but leave it in a kind of gray zone where it's technically illegal, but not enforced aggressively (that is, where it's actively hunted down/rooted out without provocation). This would help strengthen the shaming force on prostitution while still leaving it as an outlet for men who have that problem.

Porn however, I would be very aggressive in dealing with that, possibly even up to the death penalty for those who produce or distribute it for public consumption.

It's a twisted, perverse experiment and we are the unsuspecting lab rats that will serve as a cautionary example for future generations.

A similar thing could be applied to pornography regulation. Raise up barriers, social shaming and so forth. The reason people have learned to control prostitution is because people have adapted to its existence. Porn is relatively new and so like probably the heyday of prostitution it would probably be similarly devastating.

Porn is a development of prostitution into a more high tech form. Its inevitable given technology and human nature.

Nonetheless its sub-optimal and the solution remains confining such activity to wedlock as much as possible. There is nothing about provisions of legalized prostitution in the Bible for such a reason.

And no we shouldn't choose the lesser evil if even better alternatives exist. Its not going to have to be an either/or option. If we end up understanding how addiction works we can work to reduce prostitution even more than it had been done in the past.

Any problems with marriage will have to be worked on so as to render prostitution unnecessary.

Its not real progress if it is not being progressively eliminated.

Tolerating prostitution because society has tolerated it in the past doesn't mean the eros spent on it shouldn't still be squeezed into the marriage bed as much as possible. With the goal of wiping it out entirely even if such a thing isn't achieved completely before the 2nd coming.

And I believe that no such practice will exist in the Millennium because of Christ's perfect rule.

Ikea’s Juneteenth menu with watermelon, fried chicken and collards enrages employees

An Ikea in Atlanta, a city where blacks comprise the majority of residents, sent an email to employees last Friday announcing its menu for Saturday, which marked the first Juneteenth, according to Atlanta station WGCL.

“To honor the perseverance of Black Americans and acknowledge the progress yet to be made, we observe Juneteenth on Saturday, June 19, 2021,” the email read.

“Look out for a special menu on Saturday, which will include: Fried Chicken, Watermelon, Mac n Cheese, Potatoe Salad, Collard Greens, Candied Yams,” it continued.

Despite its noble intentions, the email reportedly triggered widespread rage among employees who accused Ikea of not having a thorough enough understanding of black history to have the right to serve “soul food.”

“You cannot say serving watermelon on Juneteenth is a soul food menu when you don’t even know the history. They used to feed slaves watermelon,” an anonymous employee told station WGCL.

“It caused a lot of people to be upset. People actually wanted to quit. People weren’t coming back to work,” the employee added.

At least 33 people reportedly called out from work, prompting the store’s manager to send another email apologizing for the offense.

“It has come to our attention that the menu published for Juneteenth was not taken in the best light. I truly apologize if the menu came off as subjective. It was created with the best intentions by a few of our coworkers who believed they were representing their culture and tradition with these foods of celebration,” this email read.

“We value your voices and feedback and have changed the menu so all can enjoy the day and celebrate this incredibly important day in history,” it continued.

As is always the case, the apology wasn’t good enough.

“[E]mployees said the decisions behind the creation of the menu should have included voices of color first,” according to WGCL.

“None of the co-coworkers who sat down to create the menu, nobody was black,” the anonymous employee told the station.

This claim contradicted what the store manager had written. In addition, an Ikea spokesperson confirmed in a statement to TMZ that black employees had been involved with the creation of the menu.

“We value our co-workers’ voices and changed the menu after receiving feedback that the foods that were selected are not reflective of the deeply meaningful traditional foods historically served as part of Juneteenth celebrations. We got it wrong and we sincerely apologize,” the spokesperson reportedly added.

Another employee claimed that the store simply delayed its Juneteenth menu by a day.

“So they just delayed the Juneteenth menu by a day, thinking that everybody who was upset and stayed home on Juneteenth wouldn’t notice on Sunday,” the employee said.

According to WGCL, the revised Juneteenth menu included meatloaf, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes, collard greens, and cornbread, and the menu for the day after included fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens.

Apparently, it’s now a race crime to serve traditional southern food …

This story triggered a lot of pushback against the employees, with a large contingent of social media users calling the employees “fragile” for rushing to be offended over a menu written to give them tribute:

I never understood the #BlackFragility around fried chicken and watermelon. They’re delicious.

So should I be offended @ Taco Tuesday? Or cinco the mayo? No more chips queso or beans? OMG NO MORE MARGARITAS!!!
— Estella (@Hdz3stella) June 22, 2021

You cannot plan a menu without strangely offending some group of people trying really hard to somehow feel offended so they can call out of work.
— lost storm photo (@FreeTreeBark100) June 22, 2021

Nothing wrong with this type of really good food, absolutely nothing. No business needs to be checking in with anyone when it comes to their business.
— Cobra Commander (@Ven0m0usC0bra) June 23, 2021

Who doesn’t like fried chicken and watermelon in the summer time? It’s all an American summer cuisine.
— Neanderthal Girl (@NeanderthalYT) June 22, 2021

They consume large amounts of chicken and watermelon then get upset when having their favorite foods on the menu? What won’t they be outraged by?
— Nathan Bedford Forrest (@saddlewiz) June 21, 2021

But if you read countless articles from black writers about menu ideas for this new national holiday—they almost all recommended strawberry watermelon combos—red foods—collard greens—black eyed pea dish. A simple google search proves this. You’re mad about good faith offerings??
— Ricky (@Ricky58008) June 22, 2021

What’s a matter with the menu?? I mean if it was ST. Patrick’s day corn beef and hash If it was an Italian day pizza and pasta or if it was being white day ham. Nothing racist about that it’s just the truth
— Love&Peace (@AnthonyNasta3) June 22, 2021

Notice how the latter Twitter user described the menu as “the truth.” He was correct.

Britannica defines “soul food” as “foods and techniques associated with the African American cuisine of the United States” and notes that this category of food includes “fried chicken,” “macaroni and cheese,” “potato salad,” “sweet potatoes,” “melons,” and “[g]reens, particularly collards.”

What's the problem, that's what black people eat.......?

What they wanted filet mignon and lobster? Or did they want kielbasa and schnitzel?

Uh. . . So she goes to India for what? Two years? Apparently that's enough to crack the complexity behind the Indian marriage system.

"The book is deeply researched and gives a startlingly intimate account of three middle-class couples struggling to balance tradition and their desires in a changing urban India"

Let me translate that. Western media/degeneracy has made it to India and has begun to deteriorate that nuclear families that we Indian's were once proud of. What deep "research" did she conduct? Did she have a sample size in the thousands? Did she cover the varying religions and cultural practises per region? Pulling statistics out of their butts and calling it the greatest quant analysis of the 21st century is what many of these "liberals" do. She says she's not a psychiatrist, no, can't be, who would think she's not? If anything I think she needs one. . .

"I saw really strong women who had strong ideas of what they wanted. The men were a bit more lost and a bit more behind. It was like they were living in two different worlds"

Thanks Flock, very insightful. We all know how well the "strong independent woman movement" is coming along here in the western world. Most Indian men are simps and limp wristed, well majority of the ones from central, western and southern India. Go up North and watch how quickly the "poisonous" patriarchy takes place. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai = Lost cause. I see the type of young men and women these cities are producing and they're not the best.

"In general, there’s obviously change in terms of sex, there’s liberalisation, there are more people having affairs, more people watching pornography, more divorce. Obviously that’s putting a lot of pressure on marriages. Pornography could be a good thing (but) sometimes it can add stress"

Flock is going off the rails. When was pornography ever okay? More people having affairs? Is this a justification of normalization? More divorce is a good thing? In the good ol days divorce in the Indian culture was NOT an option. You got married? Stick it through until the end, the family doesn't have time for the shame. Learn to work things out, whether it's a love or arranged marriage. No one said it was going to be easy.

All in all Flock needs to flock off.

One would think that coming from a culture of random violence, they would actually know how to fight. I guess not.

One on one unless they're 6’5 300lbs they’re all just bark. Again one on one, which is never the case….

Most people who can actually hurt you will deescalate all they can because they know what they are capable of. Talking about normal good people, not animals.

"Out Of Order!" Colorado Mayor Bans Pledge Of Allegiance, Then Snaps At Meeting Attendees Who Recite It Anyway

Well, the pledge of allegiance WAS penned by a socialist who was hired to sell flags for a capitalist magazine company targeting public schools.

Fun fact #1: America is the only nation which has a pledge of allegiance

Fun fact #2: The original pledge was specifically crafted NOT to mention God. The "One Nation Under God" part, which directly contravened the original, was added by politicians in the 1950s who wanted to create a contrast with the Communists.

Fun fact #3: The way Americans pledged allegiance was by Nazi saluting it. Of course, it's not a Nazi salute at all, but the Nazis copied the Americans and then Nazi now means anything evil in the world so we had to delete that chapter from history (Much like the swastika, the salute has a long history and doesn't have anything to do with Nazis).

"I pledge allegiance to the flag" is rather blasphemous to me... but what was it Napoleon said? "A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon."

The most savage men I know are the most chill.

I keep up with a lot of my old wrestling buddies from college, some went on to the olympics and things like that, if you’re a wrestler everyone is close knit outside a match it’s a strong bond even if you’re complete strangers. I’ve seen Greco Roman wrestlers that could suplex you on your head over and over at the drop of a hat if you get anywhere near arms distance from them back down and walk away from non stop barking guys half their size and just laugh it off like it never happened.

Fighting to show how tough you are is for children, you should only fight your fellow man to protect yourself or the people you love.
