I spent only a few hours in jail once and learned all kinds of illegal things, where to find the local prostitutes, who to see about illegal drugs, etc. Prison is not a deterrant but a form of coporeal punishment.

That would require a change in the Judicial System and the Laws thereof. Alongside the abolition of the Duluth Model(Which treats all Men as abusive by default regardless of evidence) to a more real model of domestic violence.
