It is horrible, and we shouldn’t laugh because the man did end up losing his life shortly after (may God rest him).Man, that's horrible. I wonder how it happened (but not enough to pay to read the rest of the article). In the US, it's standard practice to have the patient himself draw an X on the limb that's supposed to be operated on. I'd assume it would be the same in Europe, but maybe the patient was too out of it to do that.
It just shows how easily the medical system can get it wrong, and how easily it can be swept under the rug. It does not mention anything about disciplinary action towards the responsible surgeon.
If we weren’t living in a clown world, the whole ward would be under serious investigation, but since we find ourselves in clown world it is laugh or cry.
I hope the man has gone to a better place, and I hope that his widow can find it in herself to carry on despite this tragedy.
