It's perhaps unfair of me in retrospect not to take into account the weight of public life on his collapse. The average bedroom cleaner doesn't have to contend with that pressure.
What is the last one from?
Notice the halo, this is not the first incidence, it's a recurring theme in his self-promotion:
This one is pretty interesting, and a double subversion in that he uses pagan art to mimic Christian iconic art. It also indicates a deliberate positioning by JP himself, as opposed to a photographer's composition.
There is also the whole notion of the tortured intellectual personna who is suffering for our sin, as if he were a saintly figure as opposed to an overpaid gatekeeper who is a total mess, this is the direction and packaging of a lot of his more recent material.
I am meeting more and more people that he slowly helped to bring to the pursuit of real truth. And no, they do not stop short of seeing subversive movements or the benefit of ethnic nationalism. That being said, given the current state of the manosphere I think it's in our best interest to have someone like JP out there rather than not. I'm interested in seeing how his near-death experience changes his tune.
I watched the daughter's interview with him. When he initially raised to prominence, I admit I was listening to him. I was still clinging to a world where a college professor going against the grain was interesting.. Someone saying the very basic parts of what he was saying, was appealing.. then I woke up and started following Christ and realized I had been acting like a retard. How did anyone, and I mean anyone, ever listen to Peterson and take him seriously?
No way it's true? Why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory around here? The moral of the story is that even educated people have stupid blindspots, both the guy who prescribed him and JP himself.
Remember that JP and his daughter are also both into quack diets and his daughter became a THOT despite JP's tradcon front. her thottery isn't really on display in that video but her whole "brand" revolves around being a THOT who has a pathological obsession with her body and perceived health/sickness level.
That being said, given the current state of the manosphere I think it's in our best interest to have someone like JP out there rather than not. I'm interested in seeing how his near-death experience changes his tune.
Drs don't prescribe propofol to help normal people sleep either. Rich, famous people don't get the same treatment we do. If he told his Dr he was going on a speaking tour and wasn't sure when he could get back for another appointment and would be in countries where even filling the script may be an issue, then he easily could've been overprescribed with the assumption that he'd only take what was needed to get by until he could refill. And when they're right in front of you...I don't really believe his story about the benzodiazepines. The idea of a doctor octupling a patient's dosage from half a milligram to 4 milligrams per day, with no titration in between to see how the patient responded to each half-milligram increase, strikes me as either fiction or criminal malpractice. I suppose it's possible he did titrate up slowly and just skipped that part of the story to save time, but you still have to wonder about any doctor that would change the dosage by that amount if the patient was previously doing well on the half-milligram.
Not a psychiatrist, psychologist. Doesn't prescribe drugs. An old clinical psychiatrist who has "blind spots" about what essentially is his bread and butter craft, prescription drugs? Yeah sure.
