Now, not even your childhood memories are sacred-18 episodes of the Muppet Show now carry warnings, so as not to upset the easily triggered:

Thankfully, the easiest solution to all of this is to not give kids tablets, mobile phones, and limit game/TV time.

Honestly, I feel that today this is even easier than before. When I was a kid, we had cable (which was like 20/30$ a month) and TVs in every damn room. Nowadays, we have 1 giant TV in the living room and 1 smaller TV in our bedroom. Tempted to get rid of the smaller TV because it's never used.

If the kids complain, the easiest solution is to say, "I don't want to pay for it." Seriously, we have enough monthly charges. If they want some streaming service, they can get a job and pay for it themselves.

Strangely enough, the kids who grew up watching the older shows and cartoons seem to be more stable mentally than kids who grew up later watching what I can only say are the lamest shows and cartoons ever created, they just suck.
AnonymousBosch once wrote on here about how his sister had banned her son from watching a show called Adventure Time because of some utterly satanic imagery in some episodes.

By now this stuff is getting repetitive.
In a sense the media has become more 'entertaining' than the media it produces :). Yeah kids are going to watch the muppets and then go to the beer hall and plan a white supremacist putsch.

When I was a kid they still hadn't edited out the Bugs Bunny cartoons-- characters got a 'sambo face' after a bomb or cigar exploded in their face.

I remember reading some of the stories out of the Grimm fairytales years ago. IIRC there was some serious violence, cannibalism and at least one out of wedlock child birth (Rapunzel?).

I guess our ancestors weren't gonna BS their kids about the world.

and 'antisemitic' stories which are rarely published.
Aesops fables have been turned into children's stories but the originals are much more raw as well (see the origin of Shame)
