Just came across this retrospective mini-doc on George Gervin, who might well have been the greatest shooter of the finger roll of all time. Some of his finger rolls are almost from jumper range.
Watching this reminded me that his game wasn't sharp and quick, his game was smooth, and I have also noticed players who have this quality on playgrounds as well. They don't make a hard move or a sudden change of direction to fool people, they just seem to glide slowly past them. Anyone else noticed this about some players? They don't even seem that fast, they just have like their own dimension or gravity and sort of weave leisurely through the bodies of other players as if they didn't matter.
Anyway, here's what I'm talking about. Any modern players have this quality?
