The new age of austerity

When I read posts about money problems which people are having it seems like many are giving out advice which would have worked twenty years ago, not during this new age. This so called stakeholder capitalism which is being ushered in by the globalists is going to cause mass suffering on a level not seen in the United States since the Great Depression. It is a boot on the neck of the American people. The midwives of this new system are quite open about the fact that they no longer need nor want people. Hence the culling of our society with the injections. We have now entered a post consumerist society. They were quite open about the next big move happening about ten years from the economic meltdown of 2008. Covid was obviously well planned. Putting in place a hospital protocol meant to kill - with little to no pushback by our medical establishment is something which I never imagined possible. The economy has basically been on life support ever since with the mass printing of fiat funny money giving rise to mass inflation. We have been post industrial for quite some time. The so called 'service economy' is actually severe austerity. Most Americans are going to suffer financially throughout this decade. Many will not be able to find jobs and eventually many will be banished from society when injections are once again mandated after the next "live exercise" pandemic of bird flu or whatever they have planned for mankind. Many states have simply put a hold or pause on these fascist bills and legislation. The infrastructure is all there now. Notice the plastic sneeze guard things and social distance floor diagrams aren't going away. In my conversations with the well to do, upper middle class, I must admit that they seem to be in denial as they are still winning at this game we are still playing, for now. They don't or can't entertain the thought that all of this is set for demolition. Even tonight I heard many talking about international vacations they are planning in one or two years. I just bite my tongue and say nothing. If I have learned anything living through these times, it is that you cannot wake people up. They have to make that decision to wake up on their own. People are suffering. Look into the eyes of people. Many are severely traumatized yet continue to 'live' on a steady diet of television and fear. It's truly horrific what's happening. We must remember just how precious so much of what we are going to lose is to us. And I'm not just talking about material goods. I'm talking about things which we take for granted. Like the ability to discuss the state of the world with like minded individuals on the internet. The new normal is austerity, terror, and fear. This is a wartime scenario. The media is now projecting nuclear hysteria which we haven't seen since the Cold War. It's difficult to maintain family, fellowships, friendships these days but we certainly are going to need to help each other in this new age. We must unite in our struggle for something which is bigger than ourselves.

ok nice words, but any solutions?

Do we just go out now, and enjoy holidays abroad asap, before the inevitable crash?

Or do we bunker up and become ultra minimalists? I dont know what the solution is, but that is why I am on these forums. I lost my point, but do wish you a good day sir

Many years ago, when I was reading books about WW2 or visiting places where mass death occurred, I wondered how people felt living in these times and what if sometimes...
Now is clear, that it is not a question of if, but when, and we wouldn't be spared the same fate as a society too.

I even think that worst times than WW2 are ahead.

We were all affected by covid farce, and the things which would come next will impact all of us too. But for the start, it's important not to put your head in the sand like 99% of people choose to do.

Paragraphs are needed.

Exactly, just enjoy the ride, fear is also not a good way to live. Maybe recconect with lost friends, if they are awake (mostly likely not) but worth a try on your old facebook accounts.

The solutions are obvious. They are to start buckling down now, and preparing now. Get your budget down to the bare minimum, try to pay off any debt you may have as soon as you can, invest in real assets, and learn skills that might seem irrelevant now but will pay dividends when you don't have reliable power or the convenience of picking up a part from the store or from Amazon. Learn to live without, even if you are of surplus means now. Everyone seems to be continuing to live "high off the hog" as if they aren't imminently plotting to blow up our economy in the next few months/years.

Ultimately though, whatever state you are in materially, doesn't matter. It is your faith to our Lord, and your adherence to His Word, that matters. He will provide for you if you trust in Him, even in the darkest of days.

This is a great point and has a large impact on why people are so loathe to waking up, or so conditioned to believe that the good times are going to keep rolling for them. It reminds me a bit of some of my wealthier friends that were also establishment oriented and didn't see that someone like Trump was far better for almost all people, which caused them fear since they came from a class that stood the most to gain by just keeping things the same. The difference this time is that, as you state, it doesn't matter what we do or think, things are going to start getting hairier by the day as the divide culturally and economically in the country continues. I'm praying that people can wake up and not let fear (of new crises, losing their jobs/wealth, etc) drive them to revert again to the same madness of denying the truth, liberty and other important virtues. I'm sad to say that I doubt they will.

The major difference from the hard times that people went through before is the insane level of comfort we have in western countries.
One thing I learned from walking several pilgrimages by foot around Europe and living it rough, is how much comfort we have and take for granted.
How will people react when there will be no supermarket to buy food, no electricity to light you, preserve your food, cook your meals and heat you, no cars running cause no more gas and for the majority of them no practical skills on how to survive in nature, no building skills, etc... ?
I think it will just be too much for a lot of people to handle and a lot of nervous breakdowns, especially from women, when true austerity will come.

The coming economic disaster will separate the wheat from the chaff, for sure. Some, like this man, will be fine.

I'd like to think that I'd be fine as well. In fact I'm more frightened at the prospect of this clown world horror show continuing into perpetuity than living through a "return to the mean" period.

In the last two years I learned how to weld, auto mechanic skills, construction skills, become a bit of a sportsman with fishing and camping hobbies.

I really do believe that men with a level of agency may even fare better when the house of cards does fall.
