Lust and Eros may bear similarities but they have distinct differences. Don't forget God designed the entirely of the sexual act but it didn't dominate the person or wasn't in any way perverted originally.

Even sexual pleasure was designed by God but was only meant to be confined to Wedlock. It isn't an inherent evil. And as you correctly say without Love it is Luciferian.

God incarnated as Man to redeem the Body not destroy it as the Gnostic Ascetics wish to do. And this is one aspect of the Body that is to be redeemed with the rest.

May God restore sexuality to its proper role and its original intent. Free from the corruption of Lust. Back into healthy Eroticism that great symphony and music of Love.

Well written my friend.

Day 1

It's 6:34 pm here in The Philippines. Did nothing all day, just chilled, talked to my sister on the phone/video chat in our Hotel business building. The first day is the easiest. Let's see how it goes and stay consistent. Right now I'm just listening to music on Youtube. Cheers

Day 2

It is currently 8:34 pm here in The philippines . Today, I just chilled out. I went out and got a haircut then ate dinner. So far, Ive been tempted to look at girl’s pics on instagram and peaked several times. Theres a lot of factors involved in this. I know I gotta stop that habit eventually.

So far, so good.

Dude, you need to do something. You're making it hard on yourself just chilling. You need to put the energy somewhere.

Don't torture yourself by counting the days brother.

The pdf linked a few posts above is really worth reading. You gotta get out of the mindset that you are giving something up and thus depriving yourself.

A freed slave does not keep a tally of the days they have been free, they just rejoice in, and enjoy their freedom!

God bless you

Not sure if it was posted here already, it helped me back in the day, before slipping again..

Thank you for sharing this brother. It really helped to change my perspective.

Honestly, everyone who is struggling with this sin should read this.

Mindset is key. When you quit masturbating and watching porn you are not depriving yourself, you are not sacrificing anything, you are not saying goodbye to a little friend or whatever... You are liberating yourself from a satanic prison. All you gotta do is truly realise this, set yourself free and then praise God. None of this 'it's been 12 days since I last enjoyed myself' nonsense. You are releasing yourself from a degenerate, filthy, disgusting, and ultimately damaging prison. Don't look back even for a second. Reading this really hit home that I had become brainwashed into thinking I was giving up something that somehow did something for me. It's this idea that keeps us coming back, the idea that when we stop we are deprived. You aren't deprived, you are depriving yourself by engaging in this addiction. Honestly if you are struggling give it a read and change your mindset.

I will definitely come back to it if I have any doubts or struggles in future.

God bless

Glad it helped, I got it from 4chan, back in the days I was still browsing it haha.

What I also started doing in August is marking red crosses in my calendar every day I would slip.
Using website blocker as ColdTurkey or StayFocusd also help tremendously if you get tempted by your computer/laptop.

I have really been struggling lately.

I have downloaded blockers but are too easy to turn off on chrome.

I install protection software, but it is too easy to uninstall. I was using one called qustudio, but this blocked way too many normal sites. I couldn't find a way to make it not block so much on the settings. This was one I even paid for!

Does anyone have a good blocker they could recommend?

Covenant Eyes. But it will only work as well as your accountability partner is. Find someone you know who understands what you’re going through and will hold you accountable if you slip up.

In the past I have gone into my ISP settings and turned on child safety. However as you mention most of these things are easy to bypass if you want to look at porn. Whilst it is good to have a step to go through before you can access porn, it increases the odds of interrupting the process, but they aren't going to stop you from wanting to look at porn. If you are constantly going into your settings and turning off the filters even a really good one is not going to be much help.

It helps (as with any addiction) to realize that momentum will assist greatly. Pray and ask for the strength to make it a few days and know that it becomes exponentially easier after this. It also helps to know that pornography is used to sap us of our energy and vitality, making us docile and ineffective. Best of luck to everyone in this thread, I'll pray for you all.

Yes this is what has helped me greatly. Mindset is absolutely key to fighting pornography. I was doomed to fail when I did not fully appreciate the wickedness and evil of pornography. Up until I realised this it was an uphill battle because I didn't want to give up.

You have to develop anger towards Satan when you think about porn. You have to feel pity for all the people hopelessly addicted to it. You have to realise that it does nothing for you except sap your vitality. So long as you don't see the downsides and remain convinced that it does something for you, quitting porn will be difficult. When you see how it makes you enslaved to the evil one it becomes easy to hate it and never want it in your life again.

It’s funny how much meme culture has helped me maintain my 2 year + streak, specifically the “coomer” meme.

Having good spiritual and practical reasons to abstain from porn are extremely important but there’s something about the “coomer” image that just scares me.

Is it possible for you to discard the Internet from your home PC and/or downsize your data plan if using a Mobile?

Perhaps limiting yourself to only being able to have Internet access through Wifi can assist you as well. If all your online viewing has to be done in public view (which also means you have to make the effort to trek to one of these public wifi locations first), you may be more inclined to avoid certain websites.

Personally I think that these kinds of measures will always prove ineffective if the mindset is not correct.

You can set up all kinds of filters, and means to try to stop yourself from looking at pornography, but you will fail unless you can alter the mindset that makes you want to do it in the first place.

Let's say you are addicted to crack. Having filters on your internet or otherwise trying to impose limitations on your pornography, is like having a safe with a load of crack in it, that you can put in a box with a padlock inside a safe with a combination, but as long as you want to smoke crack, you know the combo, you have the key to the padlock, you can get to it if you want it. You will inevitably fail if you do not conquer the mindset that makes you want to smoke crack.

You can have 15 different steps to take to get to your crack, but it is all for nought if you do not conquer your desire for crack. Otherwise you'll just bypass however many steps you put in your way, and you'll get to your crack supply.

It is imperative that you realise that you are a hopeless addict, that the drug does nothing, absolutely nothing whatsoever for you, and that your life will be better without being enslaved to it. Otherwise you'll just be trying to trick yourself by putting your beloved crack in a safe that you know the combo to, inside a box that you have the key to. It's just not going to do anything if you still want your crack.

Cheers man. Feels a bit much paying 16:99 a month for it, but I think this might work. It won't be too easy to uninstall and it isn't blocking non P sites like other blockers seem to.
