The power of magic mushrooms

I watched a video the other day about this middle-aged super conservative guy who used shrooms only on a bi-monthly basis for medicinal reasons. Apparently, using them kept his migraines in check. Before he found shrooms, he was contemplating suicide from the extremeness of his migraines. I think it was technically another term, migraines puts it lightly.

But still, interesting. If only I could remember where I saw it...

He did grow his own though, kinda amusing considering his demographics. I need to figure out how to do that myself. Def on the to-do list.

anybody here have experience growing them?

Mushrooms are great but I think I like acid better because the come-up on shrooms can be really intense. I always feel weird and nauseous for the first hour or so after eating them and then everything's awesome. They can also be a real mindfuck compared to acid which is usually a more mellow trip. Music's better on acid too.

I agree with Giovanny, do them outdoors and with people you trust who will give you a supportive vibe. If you can't go into nature, go to a concert.

Not sure about snorkeling or scuba diving, I'd be scared shitless of something going wrong and drowning. I'm sure it would be the experience of a lifetime, though.

They're called cluster headaches (AKA "suicide" headaches).

I ate mushrooms and went snorkeling around the reefs off the Carribean coast of Costa Rica at this beach called Cahuita.

It was an amazing experience, but it got a little freaky when I got far out there and a little current took me away, for a while I tried to swim against it, and felt my heart beating so hard I thought it would explode, and my lungs began to tighten.

I then chilled the fuck out and remembered what I had been taught about not fight against the current and letting it take me, eventually I got to a point where I could swim towards the shore and I made it back with no problem.

I would recommend it, as long as you are a very good swimmer, and are in an area with calm waters, plus people you know and trust to look after your ass.

Wow that sounds terrifying. I was on mescaline on a beach house and I was too scared to even go into the ocean. It was pitch dark though.

Watching the sunrise come over the ocean on mescaline with stick with me though... like a Thomas Kincade painting. Mescaline (from peyote) is very similar to shrooms.

acid and mushrooms have definitely played a significant part in how i view myself, how i view the world, how i write and talk about certain things.

DMT was by far a lot more intense and profound than shrooms and LSD though... powerful stuff.

and research chemicals are a waste. they're significantly cheaper but why take a synthetic drug to emulate bud, and shrooms when you can just do the real thing?

the chef - can you give me more info on DMT? i'm pretty knowledgeable on drugs but have only heard of that one.

what does everyone think of doing shrooms alone?

^ yeah, there's various forms of DMT but the one i tried was called 5-meo DMT. it looked like a yellow/tannish version of coccaine or something of that nature which initially turned me off to it. it's meant to be smoked though.

it's actually an organic molecule that's common in nature. our brain creates it and releases it at night when we're asleep, and plays a role in dreaming. no one knows why this really happens, we just know that if we don't dream we'll go batshit insane.

it was probably the most profound drug/intoxicant experience i've ever had. you're literally transported into a new reality where everything is a fucking light show and you see trails of moving energy and shit. it lasts for about 10-15 minutes and once you start to realize you're coming back to reality you start to feel tripped out about what you just experienced.

it's a VERY powerful thing though, and i've seen kids go crazy of this shit cause they weren't ready for it. one of my friends took a hit of this shit and within a few minutes he was spazzing out and going ape shit. he was hysterically screaming "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO ME!!!!" and shit like that. it took 3 guys to hold him down because he was throwing and breaking everything in his reach. after we held him down he passed out for a large chunk of the day and when he woke up he didn't remember much.

if you have the opportunity to do it i say you should. it's a once in a lifetime experience.

Shit, my best friend was talking about doing mushrooms last week. I think I'll hit him up.

Everyone I've talked to who has done shrooms says that the trip is really hard to put into words. One said that it was like the mushrooms unlocked a part of his brain that was inaccessible and it allowed him to see things in a completely different way.

The chef - cool thanks. I've always heard of it but got curious after watching Enter the Void. It starts out with the main character smoking some and tripping hard. I actually found a documentary on Netflix called DMT: the Spirit Molecule. I'm to old to be messing with drugs, but I don't really consider psychedelics drugs.

This is pretty out there, and I can't find a link. But there are some theories that cavemen actually started using tools on psychedelics. It "unlocked" a part of their brains.

i didn't know you could make or cook up DMT yourself. an associate did this and is telling me it's on a completely different level than acid or shrooms. i'm thinking if I should get some and seeing what doors I open.

Yes you can make your own DMT, pretty inexpensively. Use with extreme caution!

The one time I tried them they didn't do anything to me, never tried again.

I love tripping on LSD though but I agree that DMT is the shit and even better when taken with MAOIs, I had a life changing Ayahuasca trip last year.

A lot of people in meditation communities started meditating after doing hallucinogens.

I was into them in my late teens, along with meditation and philosophy. There were positive effects, and negative. I suspect it can increase creativity, even in the long term. Some negative effects were that I had some weird and unsubstantiated beliefs - as if I trusted some weird form of intuition. Years later I realized I didn't possess any weird form of intuition. Also from what I've seen in others and have experienced, some people experience some mild cognitive impairment from LSD. When doing LSD the walls would breathe, and for some years afterwards objects continued to refuse to stay still.

I know people who have had real bad trips from LSD and had been permanently effected by it, but I've never met anyone who had long term negative effects from mushrooms. I've tripped somewhere around 70 times, I feel like if anything they made me a smarter, deeper, wiser, and more enlightened person. I rarely ever do them now a days, only for very special occasions, but I can't imagine what I'd be like as a person without having eaten them.

My 2 cents.
