[QUOTE="Feisbook Control, post: 564710, member: 5919"] I think K Galt and Lizard are on the right track. Carousel riders were quite possibly damaged to begin with and also have unhealthy lifestyles in general. A couple of random points on Japanese porn. I read an article a while ago which claimed that every year, there are nine thousand new videos released in Japan. Every year, there are six thousand new recruits (a staggering number, when you think about it), but most only ever make one video. The veterans in the industry are a small number. Also of real surprise to me was that the vast majority of those movies use a pool of about seventy veteran male porn stars. At some level then, those women might not have had sex with nearly as many men as Western porn stars, though they've obviously had sex with the same pool of guys lots of times. Of course, that doesn't take into account extra-curricular activities. With regard to veteran (female) Japanese porn stars, am I the only one who has noticed that Maria Ozawa is starting to hit the wall in a big way, much bigger than most Japanese porn stars? She's going to look fucking awful by the time she's 40, I think (she's 28 now). An obvious difference between her and most others is obviously genetic: she's half Caucasian. There's also another very interesting fact about her. The overwhelming majority of Japanese porn stars are scouted. Maria Ozawa purposely sought out the industry herself. I don't know her family history (other than that she's half French-Canadian), but I suspect there's something in there that's off. I wouldn't be surprised at all if she had a big drug habit either. With regard to other veterans, I would be interested to know how many others were crazy to begin with, sought out the industry, etc. Other issues to consider might be the nature of the difference between the industries. From my understanding of it, there's a fair crossover between straight and gay porn in the West. Peter North, for instance, got started in gay porn, I believe. Thus, there might be a higher rate of disease being passed on from the gay community to those women. Further to this, whilst Japanese porn seems to be changing now, it used to be that the kinky stuff tended not to be directly sexual (e.g. a lot of bondage, coprophilia in really extreme cases). Anal has always been a much bigger thing in Western porn, and Western porn seems to be a lot more rough in general. Some of that stuff -- like Brazzers -- I can't even watch. I don't know how people find that stuff erotic at all. The majority of Japanese porn seems to be focused upon the women being demure and so on. It's less damaging psychologically, though I'm not quite sure how bukkake fits into this theory. Coupled with a different set of attitudes to sex generally, it's why it's not such a big thing for Japanese women to do porn a couple of times for some pocket money, and move on, hence the high turnover rate. Western porn seems like it requires women to be more damaged to enter to begin with (so there's a higher -- or lower?! -- barrier for entry), and that it's much more damaging in the long run in general.
