No one said you specifically must to practice it. I was clearly stating that there are (or could be) benefits to those who wish to practice it. Try and follow the conversation and not take things so personally, it's not about you personally.

A preacher was giving a speech at a wedding I attended last year, and he was suggesting that if men could, they should take multiple wives. He said this would be good because there are too many unmarried women in our community. I dont actually know anyone who's done this though. I personally think given the opportunity I may want to give it a chance, but I certainly dont have resources atm.

Polygamy is widely accepted among different societies worldwide. According to the Ethnographic Atlas, of 1,231 societies noted, 588 had frequent polygyny, 453 had occasional polygyny, 186 were monogamous and 4 had polyandry.[5]

So that's over 1,000 societies practicing polygamy out of 1,231 seen. You also need to understand that this does not include what I would call 'tolerated' polygamy which also exists in America and Great Britain, and also does not include the keeping of mistresses, something which (until very recently atleast) was quite common within the Noble classes.
