The Sad State Of Germany

I happen to speak German as a 2nd language and although I haven't been in the country in many decades I've monitored its slow slide into a Marxist Globalists hellhole from afar. If you believe that things may have a snowball's chance of improving after Merkel's departure you are sadly mistaken. Here's a recent snapshot of the Welt Zeitung, which back in the days used to be a middle of the road conservative newspaper:

WELT-Aktuelle-Nachrichten-News-Hintergrunde-Videos-exif-remove.jpg

It's been auto-translated but you get the gist I'm sure. The greens, although being an etenal minority party, continue to hold huge sway over the mainstream media. I once saw a statistics that over 80% of German journalists either belong or are sympathetic to the Green party. Which is a phenomenon, or should I say strategy, that we increasingly see across the entire Western hemisphere.

I think Germany is a prime example of the expression that politics is downstream of culture. When I was last there in the 1990s these headlines would have incited public outrage and heads would have rolled. But over the course of 30 years the entire country has gradually been transformed into liberal uni-culture that does not permit wrong-think and penalizes dissidents aggressively.

I also speak German but not as a first language. it is not the worst or most far gone place in the liberal West, but it is certainly not based. Is worth keeping well away from the MSM, or as they like to call it „Öffentlich-rechtlicher Rundfunk“. I almost never look at it. There is another word for it starting with "L" but in the interests of political correctness I will avoid mentioning it. There is a lot of German language press outside that the mainstream which is more based.

Does it rhyme with Flügenpresse? ;-)

Funny that, it does!.. Probably the Russia Today in German is the simplest go-to source for news centered for that region - https://de.rt.com/ It is a bit tabloid in a Russian kind of way which I like, some other non-mainstream German news sites I find a bit academic, longwinded, dry or boring. Can't get into pages of political or philosophical analysis in any language.

Should reference this one here :

..a reminder of when Germany took aim and shot itself in the foot. Automotive being one of the most significant industries with so many well known brands, they just had to find a way to feel guilty about it.

A few years before that after Fukushima, they decided that they needed to virtue signal by switching off remaining nuclear power stations, but then importing nuclear generated electricity from France.

When will the guilt about the world war(s) be used up..

I'm in a slight bother about misplaced or misapplied environmentalism now, will post about it in a relevant thread, but these thoughts about the Vaterland were worth mentioning.
