So.. England went out on penalties, again.
Whats interesting is that the last time this happened in the latter stages of a tournament the players involved became pariah figures and were extremely unpopular with the fans. I'm thinking of Chris Waddle in 1990 and Gareth Southgate in 1996 as well as David Beckham in 1998.
There was an attempt to rehabilitate Southgate via a Pizza Hut advertising campaign making light of his mistake, but then there was subsequent outrage that he should profit from letting down his country.
But what's happening this time?
Well, the players who missed the penalties were all POC - Players of Colour. England were ahead in the penalty shootout when Marcus Rashford stepped up. Marcus Rashford has been bathing in glory since he became a political activist on behalf of the Woke Left.
The PM called the footballer on Saturday night to confirm latest about-face for the government

The guy was just a pawn used as a pantomime character by the media.
And this is the thing: the establishment view whatever demographic they use for their political purposes (feminist, migrant, trans, black) as their little pets. As such those people are not held to the same standards as others.
So, as we know, on Rotten Tomatoes they wouldnt allow negative reviews of Black Panther, such that BP ended up above The Godfather and Citizen Kane in their all time ratings. So ..
but the BP characters got top billing in the next all-star avengers film right? They got 10 minutes. At the end of the film.
They KNOW that their propaganda is BS, they know Rashford didnt personally do all that left wing campaigning on his own, they know he was just their chess piece but poor old Marcus believed the hype about himself...
so he ended up showboating like a ninny and missed the penalty.
Very interesting.
There is alot of criticism of the managers decision to bring on him and other young black players late in the game and give them the opportunity to take the penalties whereas the white players who got the chance just got on with it and rocketed the ball in the back of the net. ...enter the managers shenanigans - it is argued that he had one eye on the BLM headlines - and the diversity players messed up big time.
Rotten Tomatoes defended BP being an 'all time great' film saying that it had to be protected from a 'conspiracy' of 'right wing racists'. The movie was a special victim in its own class.
Google meanwhile will do all manner of 'auto-complete's on the name Marcus Rashford, but "Marcus Rashford penalty" isn't one of them.
So whilst Gareth Southgate and David Beckham had to endure infamy, already ex-England star Alan Shearer is saying that it 'wasnt fair' on Marcus to be brought on specifically as a penalty taker (even tho thats standard practice) and now the media are all over Rashfords special victim status as there is of course a nefarious racist right wing conspiracy/hate-campaign against him.
The English Football Association said in a statement it was “appalled” by the abuse

They know that all this is dishonest .. but they are fighting a propaganda war, complete with useful idiots.
Someone had asked in the Black Attacks on Asians thread, what will be the unintended consequences of all this special status and indulgence being accorded to Black people?
Well, here's one. The pet-project diversity stars end up believing their own BS and then finally, when they are on an equal playing field, end up humiliated on a massive stage.
P.S. that Time magazine piece had a sidebar "Olympics fails to spark LGBTQ reforms in Japan" Clown World.
