We lost two men, 3 injured, and two non-service members in that blast a couple days ago. Seems we're not leaving fast enough. Fuck these pointless deaths.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-troops-reportedly-killed-syria-suicide-attack-isis-today-2019-01-16/
The U.S. has about 2,000 troops still in Syria, though Mr. Trump has ordered a withdrawal that is expected to be completed within four months.
4 months to withdraw 2k troops? That seems ridiculously long especially with ISIS being finished. A long time for something to happen that would cancel our plans...
There isn't a snowballs chance in hell this wasn't a false flag attack. Deep State, Saudis, Isrealis... Who knows which conducted it but this reeks of treachery. Why is it that only a handful (single digits) of US servicemen have died in Syria then as they announce withdrawal, then this? Are Americans this fucking stupid they fall for this bullshit?
At this point it isn't just Americans being fooled easily but politicians and the military do not ask the people for their opinion on these matters citing "intelligence sources".

If we can smell BS then they wont confirm it but they will run a propaganda campaign. The first mention of pull out from Syria was met with MSM headlines citing Al'Qaeda being a massive threat still and Iran being a problem.

Smoke and mirrors.
Smoke and mirrors indeed and Trump is doing the fooling.

Abby Martin who has reported on the ground from Syria is calling Trump out for his deception and BS.

I don't normally source zerohedge but this seems legitimate. I think someone is desperately trying to get the US to stay before we finish dragging our feet out of Syria.

Anyone else hear anything?

Israel Announces Sustained Strikes On Damascus; Syria Fires Back In Major Escalation

It's the first time that Israel has ever announced strikes against Iran inside Syria and in real time. Moments after a massive wave of rockets were fired on Damascus, activating Syrian anti-air defenses Sunday night, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced: "We have started striking Iranian Quds targets in Syrian territory. We warn the Syrian Armed Forces against attempting to harm Israeli forces or territory."

Twelve hours prior the IDF said its Iron Dome Aerial Defense System intercepted a Syrian rocket fired into the northern Golan Heights after Israel launched a prior rare daylight raid on Syria on the “international airport, southwest of Damascus,” according to Syrian military officials. In what marks a major escalation, it appears Damascus responded to that attack with what Israeli media has called an "intentionally fired offensive surface-to-surface attack."

The Israeli intercept of that inbound Syrian surface-to-surface missile was caught on dramatic video, per The Times of Israel:

The interception of the incoming Syrian projectile was seen over Mount Hermon, Israel’s tallest peak, which was full of visiting skiers, following a stormy period that dusted the mountain with snow.

Israel's Sunday night attack has involved dozens of strikes reportedly from F-16 jets flying over Lebanon targeting locations in and around southern Damascus. Syria’s Pantsir and Buk air defense missile systems have reportedly shot down an unknown number of inbound Israeli rockets according to early unconfirmed video.

Israel also reportedly launched multiple cruise missiles during the sustained assault. Local Syrians have described prolonged sustained explosions both overhead and on the ground, but it remains unclear how many Israeli rockets actually made it past Syrian defenses.

The IDF has warned Syria not to respond, which appears to be unheeded as Israeli media is reporting that anti-air defenses have been activated by inbound Syrian rockets over northern Israel and the Golan Heights.

As of 1:45 AM Beirut time Al-Masdar News reports the following:

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) unleashed a massive attack on the Damascus countryside at 1:05 A.M. (local time), tonight, hitting a number of targets in and around the town of Al-Kisweh.

According to a military source, Israeli jets were first spotted over Jabal Sheikh-Golan Heights area; they would then fire several missiles towards Al-Kisweh.

The Syrian military then activated their air defense units, but were unable to stop all the missiles that were fired at the Damascus countryside.

The reported added, "The Israeli Air Force is now launching another wave of strikes on Damascus, with some reports claiming they are hitting targets near the Damascus International Airport."

Strikes appeared to have subsided an hour or more after they began, and are reported to have included in total over 40 rockets launched in four waves.

People keep thinking it is just Iranian targets being hit. Thats some epic koolaid they must be drinking to believe any word of the IDF.

Can you imagine any other country doing this shit to its neighbour and not having some form of alliance gunning for it? Jesus christ the Israelis play a spectacular Game of Thrones in the modern age.

Bibi never authorized American pullout from Syria. So, all this bombings are to convince or 'persuade' President Trump to do the right thing, and keep America in a worthless, never ending war with Syria.

Just had to swallow back vomit while watching our local far left public news source make horrible frowny faces about Syria being in great peril as terrorist bombings intensify in the wake of Trump's order to pull out.

This is the media source that for a decade shit on the US for every Afghan or Iraqi that so much as stubbed their toe.

At least Trump is exposing these duplicitous scumbags for what they are. The only thing they love more than shitting on American and allied soldiers is watching them die for Israel.

For a long time we needed books and TV shows to tell us there were a group of people hell-bent on destroying others for what we now call globalism. Now we get to see it in real time 24/7 and the mental oympics employed to spin killing innocents, creating terrorist organisations and to hype up public opinion.

Orwell, Huxley, Atlas Shrugged, Farenheit 451 etc would be out of work if they had this level of exposure to world events. The only drawback being most people dont care to read those texts.

A quick update :
Only two villages left in the south-east pocket held by ISIS. IT seems that the "syrian kurdish" part will soon be Isis Free.
Americans will then pullout of the war most likely.

There will then be only 2 pockets in the south

1) Close to the Jordan border , a pocket with rebels for long time in "truce"
2) A mountain range (desert?) still held by ISIS but totally not useful for them.

I suspect the SAA & allies will get clear of one of the two next month.

I still don't understand what happens in the North though.

The Turks will likely start swinging their dick in the North. It would be problematic because the SAA and Kurds will fight alongside each other.

It's really amusing hearing my government trying to talk up the threat of ISIS. "Oh, there could be a resurgence if we leave, thousands of goat fuckers could come back and threaten all the gains us and us alone have won. We simply must stay in Syria forever just like Afghanistan and Germany and Japan and..."

I'm sure ISIS will pop up in Venezuela next. And, possibly, the whole world. God it sure is hard being the white knight savior of the entire planet.

More good news, my skepticism goes without saying, of course.

US to leave 200 troops for peacekeeping after withdrawal

US officials said American forces were initially given 30 days to leave Syria, but Mr Trump later said the withdrawal would be slowed down.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said: "A small peacekeeping group of about 200 will remain in Syria for a period of time."

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who was a vocal opponent of the withdrawal decision, praised Mr Trump's latest move and said the troops would work "as part of an international stabilising force".

US troops currently have a presence in a network of bases and airstrips in an arc across north-eastern Syria.
This shift in the US position may to some extent reassure its Kurdish allies and help to keep some small elements of allied troops and special forces on the ground.

The troops have been described as "peacekeepers" by the White House but they clearly will be helping to keep the Kurdish forces credible and linking them up to US air power if necessary.

Ostensibly this is about preventing the resurgence of IS and it also prevents an even deeper push into Syria by the Turks.

But the fact that one of the two remaining US bases will be in the south east, near to Syria's border with Iraq and Jordan, shows that countering Iranian influence remains one of the central guiding principles of the US approach.

However, this still falls far short of a comprehensive strategy for the future of Syria or the region and, for Washington's Kurdish allies, may just be a temporary blessing.

There was never a civil war in Syria, but a war of conquest and rapine to benefit the USA and Israel.
Now, Mr MAGA ordered the rob of Syrian gold.
The US Army have transported as much as 50 tons of Syrian gold that serve as protection and safe passage fee for key ISIS terrorists escaping from Syria, or the terrorists will die.
Knowing that it’s the CIA that started it all, it’s easy to see how those hired goons can be easily dispensed with after the goal has been achieved, or they pay for a more graceful exit.

Finally a confirmation that the “gas attacks” in Syria were false flag operations:

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the international body which examines alleged incidents of the use of poison gas, has just confirmed to me that a devastating leaked document from its Dutch HQ is genuine.

The document, written by one of the OPCW’s most experienced investigators, shows that it is highly unlikely that gas canisters found at the scene of an alleged poison gas attack in Douma, Syria, were actually dropped from helicopters – as has been widely believed and claimed. The claim is crucial to the case for bombing Syria. A copy of the leaked document can be found on my blog on Mail Online.

Does this mean Trump is a confirmed war criminal now?

Kurdish leaders are extremely stupid for going along with ZOG schemes, which only cares about them as far as their interests overlap with Israel's. Good to see that finally they are starting to understand that reintegrating into Syria and dropping any plans for independence is their best option. The Turkish attack is a good thing that will help Syria and Russia take care of the Kurdish problem in this way, now that the Syrian Army will be able to reoccupy some of these territories in northwestern Syria. It will be interesting to see if the US actually completely leaves the country or just moves to another part of Syria, since the Kurds/SDF control most of the land north of the Euphrates.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that Turkey invaded Syria before to attack the Kurds a year ago, in early 2018. At that time there was no mass outrage from the Congress or the media though because the part of Syria they fought in was near Idlib and nowhere near the US occupation zone.

Cant help but thinking that there has been alot of talking thru back channels to arrange these new alliances.

I am hoping that the interchangeable Turkey-Isis-Turkey coalition get their asses handed to them by the SAA, Kurds and Russia combined.

Will the fact that Israel and the US stage-managed the rise of Isis finally come out? After all, the aborted Syrian invasion was what this whole post-election meltdown has been about..
