Tumblr is a cesspool of the craziest and most extreme versions of feminism and all the other cultural movements that are usually bundled along with it such as LGBT advocacy. I think the source of this is that tumblr is a huge gathering point for lots of people involved in geek fandoms; particularly fandoms that tend to have a big female fanbase like TV shows such as Dr. Who and the 2d animated Avatar cartoon (not the 3d one). I'm guessing a lot of you posters here probably don't give two shits about such things but personally I'm a huge geek and I have an inside look into these fandoms and there is an extremely noticeable correlation between people who are involved in these sort of fandoms and who are also into batshit feminist/LGBT ideals. A lot of these people have huge victim-hood mentalities and are drawn to such subcultures where such victim mentalities are not only tolerated but promoted and treated as something that everyone should aspire to. It truly is an inversion of values where failure is celebrated and ability is looked down upon.

After seeing her post about "stomach problems," I scrolled down.

She drinks alcohol and eats a lot of gluten. She posted pics of mac n cheese and fettuccine alfredo.

Although gluten fear is overdrawn, if you do indeed have intestinal problems then the last things you should be consuming are alcohol and gluten.

I would wager her and anyone else $10,000 that 60 day juice fast would cure her obesity and "intestine problems."

Instead she is literally eating herself to death.

We're supposed to tolerate that?

I'm all for live and let live, but if you're shooting heroin, you don't get to force me (through shaming, political correctness, or whatever) to accept that your lifestyle is healthy.

She won't live to see 50.

It's been said that the Internet is where bad ideas go to die. Tumblr is just the most decrepit graveyard among them.

Thank God Yahoo is going to pave it over.

Speaking of fat acceptance, let me introduce you to This is Thin Privilege, the Tumblelog that catalogues the numerous ways in which fatty fat fats are discriminated against in society... like not having their body types represented in video games:

Thin privilege is your body type being the default avatar in video games and on websites because it’d be too hard to make a bunch of different body sizes, and then naturally when body diversity isn’t an easy thing to do, it seems only the natural choice that you make your avatars thin.

I’ve seen the argument made a thousand times on dress up game sites, and in video games that it’d be too difficult to redo the programming or whatever to fit a bunch of different body sizes and types (sounds a lot like the real life argument “well, it’s expensive to make clothes to fit bigger bodies, so naturally they cost more and they’re harder to find", doesn’t it?), and for a long time it made a lot of sense to me. Yeah, that does sound hard, and it’s not my area of expertise, so who am I to say someone should make a dozen different avatar options for their games because I’m sure it’s easier to go with just one or two basic molds, because then you don’t have to re-size everything.

But it just hit me now… they don’t HAVE to pick a thin girl every time. They could go with someone chubby, or hell, even plain FAT, and that could be their basic mold, they could design everything to fit HER, that one size avatar, and you could have thin girls crying out for some representation. “But why can’t we have more size choices? I don’t want to be a FAT GIRL." But it’s never like that. It’s always the one skinny girl, and maybe an “average" size dude, who you can pick for your body size, maybe at best you can customize your facial features and hair, but your body in these games is always skinny, and other people will tell you it’s because it’s “too hard" to offer choices. Well, you know what, fuck that. Until I see a game out there where the only option is to be a fat girl, and I don’t see ANY skinny girls whining about their lack of representation in that game, which I know would be bound to happen, fuck that. If the sims can pull it off, even if arguably poorly, I expect other game developers to figure it out, too.

Three things here:

1. Video games are fantasy. When people engage in fantasy, they want to see and do things they can't experience in real life... like being thin and athletic. If you want to look at fat people, all you have to do is leave the fucking house.

2. Most video game plots require the player character to be in shape because they're some kind of soldier/secret agent/commando or whatever. Please, go tell the military or whatever games like Call of Duty are modeled on that "PEOPLE CAN BE HEALTHY AT EVERY SIZE"; they'll die from laughing.

3. What kind of a perpetually offended, narcissistic loser needs to constantly see themselves reflected in the media that they consume? This reminds me of the disgusting goons who demanded that BioWare use a female Commander Shepard for Mass Effect 3's advertising campaign... and lost their shit when they designed a blonde white woman.

There's way worse on that Tumblelog (way worse), but it's Friday and I don't need to lose my lunch right now.
