The Unrest in Kazakhstan Thread

The protests started in response to a rise in fuel prices but quickly turned into protests against the current authoritarian Kazakh government.
My immediate reaction is that this has nothing to do with fuel prices.
Is anyone other than western media claiming that?

It's simply not believable to me.
People in these regions are much more resilient and lead lives that First World Problem Americans could never tolerate--the cost of refueling your vehicle being pricey is simply not enough of a discomfort to cause revolution.

MoA has a good analysis:

It is still a mystery what forces exactly are behind the rebellion in Kazakhstan. While I had presumed that it was a CIA operation it may have been outsourced to Britain's MI6. There are also still other possibilities.

The action seen over the last few days smelled strongly of a color revolution as typically instigated by the United States.

The following post is a translation of a Russian post, allegedly based on testimonies of Russian/CSTO troops.

The military biological lab was first kept away from Russian observation, and was then rapidly evacuated by unknown actors.

Russian-language channel rybar published the testimonies of CSTO peacekeepers in Kazakhstan.

❗☢️ The Kazakh side did not allow the CSTO peacekeepers to guard the biological laboratory in Alma-Ata

A couple of days ago, we wrote a long review about the laboratories for the development of biological weapons in the post-Soviet space as part of the American Clear View and Jefferson projects. A full-fledged network of biological laboratories has been deployed on the territory of the CIS, where new strains of plague, smallpox, anthrax, cholera, brucella and other deadly diseases are being studied with American grants.

Over the past twenty years, outbreaks of dangerous diseases have been recorded in all regions without exception where level 3 biolaboratories are located. Experiments are being conducted on the population of the CIS countries.

During the pogroms in Alma-Ata, local media reported how unidentified people opened windows and made their way to the first floor of a strategically important facility. We are talking about the Kazakh Scientific Center for Quarantine and Zonoose Research. Aikimbaev (the Central Reference Laboratory operates on its basis). Subsequently, the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan denied the information.

However, local residents claim that the biological laboratory is now almost abandoned and is in a deplorable state. During the days of the pogroms, there were people in RCB protection suits on the territory - maybe the personnel had just been evacuated - but now there is no activity at the facility.

❗️When agreeing on the list of strategically important facilities that were planned to be taken under protection by CSTO CRRF peacekeepers, the biological laboratory in Alma-Ata was crossed out. The Russian side raised the issue of the need to take the object under protection, but the government of Kazakhstan decided not to transfer it under the protection of the CSTO.

This is partly due to the sharp divergence of positions between the leadership of Kazakhstan and the CSTO regarding American biological laboratories. In September 2021, at the CSTO summit in Dushanbe, the creation of a coordinating council on biological safety issues was announced. The declared program envisaged, in the future, the elimination of dangerous objects. The authorities of Kazakhstan, despite the formal consent, continued to work under the guidance of American military biologists.

We repeat the question: how soon will the media report on the outbreak of a dangerous infectious disease in Central Asia? Because not a single state in its right mind will try to hush up such an acute topic as pogroms in a biological laboratory, if there are no objective reasons and serious political risks.

Against the backdrop of attempts by the Kazakh leadership to “resolve the issue”, versions of a potential leak of biomaterial are already emerging - and it is only a matter of time where and when a new strain will emerge.

Hmmm. If smallpox was actually released, we should know within the next few days. But it could be that the smallpox was confiscated/stolen by "terrorist" groups. I think Gates warned about "terror attacks." I thought there were islamic groups in Kazakhstan taking part in this? Perhaps they are acting in coordination with Western groups.

Someone was grifting money into British real estate.

Putin warned Tokayev not to invite foreign investment into Kazakhstan.

You bring up a very interesting topic. The free flow of money.

In the current propaganda cycle it is seen a positive. Country X is able to buy products in country Y. And country Y imports raw material from country X which it doesn't have. Both win.

From the outside it looks as classic economic liberalism as proposed by Adam Smith in An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations hence many conservatives love this idea.

In practice the world is completely different today. Most important is that banks can create money from thin air. (very different from the time of Smith, we don't have money today, we just have debt paper) What happens is that within a few years of opening up the foreign investors (with this fake money) buy up all major production assets in a country. As we see in many Eastern European countries after joining the EU.

Short term it is a boost of wealth, and of the money they can buy products from other countries. Hence the first years after liberalizing is good. After becoming part of the international money market system.

In Western media Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is always portrayed as good they portray it as bringing knowledge, skills and technology.

In practice it's moving to Feudalism, that an elite, we all know the names, own all crucial properties and the fruits of those properties. In many cases it's not in industries that the countries get seduced by. Companies will now flow in to bring knowledge and skill and boost the economy as promised. But in practice, land, residential and commercial property and raw materials industry get bought.

Leading to a feudalistic system. Which we are in. A few own all crucial properties and the state works with its police and law apparatus as their servants protecting their wealth.

Adam Smith himself write about this in "Theory of Violence and the Political-Economics of Development".

Smith characterized the feudal world as violent and predatory, with little overall growth as we had the last 20 years. Most people lived at subsistence, with minimal degrees of trade, division of labor, and specialization and exchange.

While they say freedom and liberalism, it means Feudalism in the traditional sense as written down by Smith.

Where does this rybar function? Is it a news channel, do they have a site? The following link is the only thing I found. Is that what we're talking about?

Link to the Russian language TG news channel is in the link provided.

Semen Pegov from WarGonzo traveled to the lab himself, in the pictures there isn't any damage visible. The written messages can be translated. I don't know what he is saying in the interview.
