I tend to drink vodka mixed, usually a vodka tonic. I stick with this:

I can go to the local liquor store and get a half gallon (1.75 L) for $26. About $11 per "fifth." Not the cheapest, nor the priciest. But it works for me.

Some of the vodkas posted here are disgusting, including UV, Svedka, and Pinnacle.

If you have to go cheap, Blue Ice Potato is ok, and maybe Frost from Albertsons. Best value is the Costco-branded Grey Goose.

Nemiroff Lex is the best Vodka.
Only place in NYC I've found that has it is Sly Fox on 2nd Ave Little Ukraine.

Also their other versions are superb.

The hot pepper one is great.

Absolute had a great sale 4th of July weekend. I picked up a handle for $19.99.

Most of the people I hangout with drink Smirnoff, Sky, or Svedka vodka.

I'm not really a vodka shhhnob. Maybe when I get a little bit older I will be.

I'm spoiled as I have access to them all, :)

this is like the most universal in poland i think. in case of trouble just choose this one. it's like a visa - accepted everywhere.

For pure vodka I go with either Absolut or Grasovka.
For mixes I go with the cheapest one I can find as the taste is lost on the fizzy drink anyway.

Personally I prefer gin tonic and single malt whisky a lot more though.

(And for the people mentioning Ketel One in this thread, pssst, it's not vodka at all, it's a jenever (gin) ;))

Get Platinum or Imperial, tastes much better.

It's sweet, 6x distilled, American (go merrica!), and $13 for 1.75l. Supposedly distilled at the same place that distills Tito's

Smirnoff is deadly for hangovers

Ciroc is pretty clean as is Belevedere

Kettel One is a fav too, don't mind Grey Goose.

All on the rocks with ice and lime.

@Dude3737- Also got to give a shout out to Tito's vodka. Great stuff for the price. Pot stilled 6x.

@Cr33pin- You are correct on the Pinnacle Whipped vodka. Fine for me as an after dinner drink, but girls love it. Mixes well with OJ also. Got a bottle in my slut kit right now.

I am pretty spoiled when it comes to Vodka. My dad works in Siberia and brings a bottle home every three months. Can't remember any of the names though.

My favorite vodkas following the Russian stuff in order:

Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka
Tito's
Ketel One

Fatless

Sparrow
Fusel oils and congeners are what you're avoiding in multiple distillations.

According to The Penguin Book of Spirits and Liqueurs, "[Vodka's] low level of fusel oils and congeners — impurities that flavour spirits but that can contribute to the after-effects of heavy consumption — led to its being considered among the 'safer' spirits, though not in terms of its powers of intoxication, which, depending on strength, may be considerable."

Tito's is good. No burn, no hangover.

It's the vodka version of El Tesoro tequila. Smooth, no burn.

Tito's six times distilled from Texas -- mid priced in Canada -- in between Smirnoff/absolut and grey goose/belvedere at $35 for 750ml..
Grey Goose is the real popular among the 18-25 in the general Toronto area but I prefer to mix it up and try new stuff..
Absolut Elyx was good, Belvedere is a good substitute for Goose if that's all you're used to.. Nice bottle and on par with Goose going down.

Slava in a triangular bottle with a dark blue label, that was another good mid priced vodka but I've only ever seen it once downtown Toronto in a random LCBO(private alcohol sales store)

Didn't read the whole thread - good to see other people know what's good! (Titos/Slava)
