As much as I like Suits' summary, I'll give one as well.

Rick loses the will to fight for a while. Maggie becomes a bit of a bad ass. Carl goes on a rampage, killing a lot of the saviors and getting captured by Negan as a pet.

Rick eventually unites the communities (several not yet seen) and they attack Negan. They eventually win with some betrayal on Negan's side.

Rick decides they're not going to be a death penalty state any more and so they just lock Negan up in the cell that Morgan built. (Morgan didn't make it in the comics, but it's there in both!)

Next major plot arc has him being a player, and being awesome.

Also, so far we've just seen a tiny bit of him and he's an over the top cartoon villain. I actually quite like him in the comics.

There are some extra details in the comics that I didn't mention, because I was trying to be efficient.

The reason why Negan seems so brutal. He's trying to fix humanity and understands that the ends justify the means. When you read the comics, you realize that there are other respectable aspects to his character.

He envisions a pussy paradise where women are all thin and can cook. He sees a future where men are alpha and the betas get weeded out. That's why he shows tough love with his baseball bat. He just wants guys like Glen and that other weakling to toughen up and be men.

As the comics explain, he can see that Maggie doesn't really respect Glen because she made herself ugly by chopping all her hair off.

He realizes that if he shows good leadership with his barbwire cover baseball bat, men like Glen will be able to finally stand up and demand the respect that they deserve.

He's evil, but he's a necessary evil.

He's still alive (and awesome) in the comics. I don't expect him to go away unless the actor wants out early.

WTF neegan in the comics is alive and well?? How does Rick not kill him in the comics?

Please give me the plot.

There's a lot going on in the comics, but I'll try to condense it a short synopsis.

Obviously, the Negan-Rick relationship starts off with some serious tension. However, eventually their mutual respect for each other comes to the forefront and Negan proposes to Rick that they find a way to work together, rather than in competition with each other.

Negan welcomes Rick into his heavily fortified home and gives Rick access to his rather respectable harem of 18 horny young hotties.

Rick has the opportunity to kill Negan, but let's him live, believing that they will be stronger together.

Rick's son turns on him for being a sellout, so Rick arranges for his death.

Rick becomes Negan's right hand man, helping him to conquer and govern communities all up and down the Eastern US continental seaboard.

I hope they go with that story on the show. Rick ending up against his son would be amazing!

Like Malone said, Negan, awesome as he is, falls prey to his own assholeishness. He's a bit too much of a tyrant, which has created a good deal of resentment within his camp. After some solid fighting between the Saviors and Alexandria/The Kingdom/Hilltop as well as some other twists and turns, Rick decides not to kill Negan as an act of civility. Basically, he doesn't want to start off a new era by executing someone.

On a side note, I have a feeling that Daryl is about to get a hot iron to the face (notice how Dwight's face is fucked up?). That's Negan's fun way of punishing people who try to escape and/or steal shit. He has also created a harem of other men's wives/girlfriends, so naturally, that breeds some resentment as well.

I'm excited to see how the comics will translate to the show. Some crazy shit's about to go down.

Negan is still John Winchester to me.

Jesus that was hard to watch.

Violence porn territory really, absolutely no need for that kind of focus on gore and brain matter hanging from bat.

Big step down first episode, lets hope the series improves form here.

The game is MUCH better than the TV show.

It is more of an interactive novel than a game (as others have stated). But the story is PHENOMENAL. It's very deep and emotional.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/207610/

It's like 6 bucks and change for the whole thing.

Don't waste any money on "Season 2". It was a huge disappointment.
EDIT: Don't buy "400 Days" DLC either. Waste of money and time.

Also make sure you buy the "Season Pass" or whatever---the game is 5 "episodes" and you don't want to waste money buying a piece of the game---get the whole thing.

Or just use thepiratebay and get it for free.

A little off-topic, but Tales From The Borderlands (made from the same creators of the Walking Dead game) is also excellent. Skip over The Wolf Among Us though, it's meh.

I won't post the meme, but Rick says, "Corrrral, what's Glenn's favorite restaurant?"

Carl, "Dammit, dad. Too soon!"

Rick, "Popeye's, Corrrral. Popeye's"

To me, the Corrrral part of the joke is funnier, because I never noticed that he says this all the time.

Since the beginning of the show people have been:

Shot execution style
Impaled
run over by cars
blown up
Strangled
Smothered
Have had their necks broken
decapitated
disembowled
eaten alive
immolated
Had their bodies torn in half

All these death happened on screen. Grusome deaths are par for the course, so I don't get why two guys getting beaten to death disturbed you so much. I think it was a good episode that was meant to establish Negan as a legitimate threat to Rick and the survivors. It did a good job of that.

I watched the first three seasons but haven't seen more than bits and pieces of the rest. Just watched tonight's episode with my mom. Why the fuck is everyone such a pussy now? Jesus, it makes me want the "good guys" to just get slaughtered.

Negan talks too damn much. First episode was phenomenal television. Last three episodes have been boring shit.

You're missing the point.

It's mostly exposition to give us insight into Negan, how he runs the Saviors and bossed around other communities, and how Rick has been humbled. This is going to make the inevitable war between Alexandria and the Saviors even more exciting. The tone of Season 7 is totally different from 6 becuase.

You can't have 2-3 major characters a night dying and if you've been watching you sure as hell know Rick isn't going to die anytime soon.

The writers, are creating what artist call "negative space" to drum up the tension to the conflict(there were signs of it like the 2 time when Rick wanted to kill Negan with Lucille while he was holding it but didn't). Just be patient, the roller-coaster ascends slowly but goes down really fast.

I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan's doing a great job; he oscillates between gregarious goofball (he's ok with Rick holding his main weapon and turning his back on an armed enemy because he knows nobody will challenge him) and draconian tyrant effortlessly. I had my doubts S6, ep16 but he's won me over since
