The woke capitalism thread [Get woke, go broke]

Someone posted not too long ago that these corporations just don't give a hoot about being woke and that its combination the popularity of the woke, at least among left wing or liberals, and for many of these companies the sheer size of their market presence and dominance of markets and channels that will invariably keep these companies going. I don't think this is the right way to look at this.

What I think we may be miscalculating is the grip this woke has on our society.

America definitely has an obsession with money. But, greed and ego are nothing new to humans. I think its been demonstrably proven that cultish beliefs and radical ideology trumps the desire for money. We've seen this same effect in other countries throughout history. America for all its bling is no different. Because you can't argue with the numbers. The entertainment industry is in decline. Professional sports is losing fans. And, even major brands have seen declines. These declines are not trivial. Double digit declines year over year are the norm.

I think what we're misunderstanding is the dynamic of how wokeness invades institutions and takes them over. One of the most revealing documentaries of this century is without a doubt "Hunted Man - Brett Weinstein". You can see it on Youtube. I find myself re-watching this documentary and listen to Brett's podcast "Darkhorse Podcast" frequently. Quoting Brett from the documentary he said this is coming to the corporations.

The woke does not care about money or the bottom line or shareholder interests. Coke, United Airlines, MLB, NFL, Gillette etc are vessels for their ideology and nothing more. And once you get one of these woke people into an institution its only a matter of time until they take it down. Again, watch the documentary I referenced above to see how this unfolds.

The CEO of United Airlines is no different than the CEO of Coke-a-Cola. Both of these men no longer control their companies. They're walking on egg shells just like the rest of us. It only takes one slip up and they are toast. Cancelled. I doubt they even care about any of this stuff, but, to keep their jobs they must. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they secretly wish this whole woke thing would go away.

Recently, we've seen the introduction of the "chief diversity officer". Ever wonder what that worthless degree in queer or women's or LatinoX or African American...studies degree can get you? A slot for CDO. These people are trained militants. They're called change agents. And if it was bad enough to have just one or a handful of these people working for a corporation, now, they have representation in the C-Suite and boardroom. That's all they need. Title means nothing. A lowly admin clerk needs only to accuse a CEO of an ist, ism or phobia and she'll have him cancelled. A CDO that does in fact have a title and authority cares even less about the CEO or Chairman of the Board. She has a variety of subversive techniques to keep those types in check.

This is what we're witnessing.

United Sets New Diversity Goal: 50% of Students at New Pilot Training Academy To Be Women and People of Color

United Airlines is only major U.S. airline to own flight school: United Aviate Academy
April 06, 2021

CHICAGO, April 6, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines, the only major U.S. airline to own a flight school, will begin accepting applications today as it embarks on an ambitious plan to train 5,000 new pilots by 2030, at least half of them women and people of color. Backed by scholarship commitments from United Airlines and JPMorgan Chase, United Aviate Academy will create opportunities for thousands of students, including women and people of color to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot, one of the most lucrative careers in the industry.
In addition, for those United Aviate Academy students who may need additional financing, United has partnered with Sallie Mae to offer private student loans to ensure that no highly-qualified, highly-motivated, eligible applicants will be turned away solely because they can't afford to enroll. United Aviate Academy expects to enroll 100 students in 2021.
"Over the next decade, United will train 5,000 pilots who will be guaranteed a job with United, after they complete the requirements of the Aviate program – and our plan is for half of them to be women and people of color," said United CEO Scott Kirby. "We're excited that JPMorgan Chase has agreed to support our work to diversify our pilot ranks and create new opportunities for thousands of women and people of color who want to pursue a career in aviation."

I don't think diversity quotas at pilot schools will mount to much because like the STEM field that is difficult, highly competitive and requires long hours, pilot schools will experience a high turnover rate from the people United Airlines has a hard-on for, for those very reasons.

Or they could lower the standards for entry and excellence like they had every other skilled institution, like the military, our first responders, law enforcement, intelligence and etc.

I don't think the effects of such a forced brain drain will be felt for a few decades...just like how the effects Frankfurt school began from the late 60's to really breaking through around the late 90's.

Then a peak in catastrophes due to incompetency and loss of customers will reverse the company's ease of standards.

Not to mention once becoming a new pilots you start at a small regional airline (because you don't get to work for the big boys first) make like in the 20's or low 30's for first several years, having to live in crash pads, long hours, no sleep, etc. You really have to want it to make it as a commercial pilot. This will keep away a lot of free riders from the profession, and I suspect this is why a lot of women don't want to be pilots. It's super demanding.

How would it matter if these companies fade away? They will just be replaced. Everything is accounted for. There is no money motive here, or at least not the primary motive is the money. It is about a top-down agenda that is pushed by the elites, whether it is political, cultural, economic, health, spiritual. If the business fades away because of it, they just create and elevate a new one.

Just ask the BDS people if boycotts hurt businesses bottom line and more importantly their public reputation, "brand". For sure it hurts.

It's all about quarterly financial statements. That's their outlook not long term as all. As soon as that Gillette ad came out that mocked men, I said "cool never buy from them again". They never get my business, consumer spending happens over a lifetime so you can bet that targeting a company for a boycott has an impact. Same story with the NFL boycotts, their viewership is down and it's because Middle America had enough.

The move is to take power away from corporations who push the social change. And redistribute the power to smaller businesses or businesses that are actually forces for good, witness the hypocrisy of American businesses preaching about wedge social and cultural issues whilst keeping quiet about their interests in China and human rights violations that are happening at their factories there and minority groups in China.

We've been frogs boiling slowly for the last 20 years, such catastrophes and mediocrity have already crept into being the status quo, case in point Boeing
There's truth to this, but the silent majority also lashes back at Hollywood netting huge losses on their woke grrrl power propaganda and completely ignore internet corporate advertising that attracts less than 10% of the population. People are wiser to the stupidity more than we realize.

Yes but all of their competitors are still super woke and fully globohomo. I would wager that the subliminal messaging across any of these platform's original content is largely identical.

And worst of all, the masses never seem to notice it. My normie progressive acquaintances all have netflix accounts and regularly consoom content. They don't pick up on the blatant social engineering or worse. Stuff that should be disgusting or repellant to a discerning viewer.

None were even aware of the controversy last year over "cuties".

While i would like to think that netflix is creating their own demise with forced globohomo and wokeness etc, unfortunately i think the reduced market share is solely due to the huge influx of similarly powerful competition into a market where they were once the only shark in the sea.

Yes I've often wondered if the issues with the 737 max were the result of a diversity hire.
It’s been rumored in some aviation forums and many others have commented in the comments section for some YouTube videos that Boeing allegedly outsourced the software that was used to fly the 737 max out to Indian software developers in India that had no experience writing programs for jets. They did this to cut the development cost of the jets. This didn’t work out too well.

Appears as if Richard Dawkins is being cancelled...

Voxday :

Thank you for your service

Sooner or later, the Black Rider always throws his servants from his high horse:

Established in 1953, the Humanist of the Year Award is conferred annually by the American Humanist Association (AHA), recognizing the awardee as an exemplar of humanist values. Communication of scientific concepts to the public is an important aspect of advancing the cause of humanism. Richard Dawkins was honored in 1996 by the AHA as Humanist of the Year for his significant contributions in this area.
Regrettably, Richard Dawkins has over the past several years accumulated a history of making statements that use the guise of scientific discourse to demean marginalized groups, an approach antithetical to humanist values. His latest statement implies that the identities of transgender individuals are fraudulent, while also simultaneously attacking Black identity as one that can be assumed when convenient. His subsequent attempts at clarification are inadequate and convey neither sensitivity nor sincerity.
Consequently, the AHA Board has concluded that Richard Dawkins is no longer deserving of being honored by the AHA, and has voted to withdraw, effective immediately, the 1996 Humanist of the Year award.
The wicked may prosper for a season, but often the rewards for which they sold their souls don't even last a lifetime.
How do you like that post-Christian culture you sought to bring about now, Mr. Dawkins?
