This is as old as Facebook:
People who announce they're not coming to an event on an event page. Usually but not always a woman. "I'm so sorry I can't come to your party!! I'll be on a tropical beach in Thailand, wish I could make it to your party at a bowling alley."
Holy fuck do these people annoy me:
1. They have to passive aggressively boast (humble brag) about their absence, and how much better it is where they're actually going. Not explicitly, it's implied.
2. They would never say a peep if they a) simply showed up or b) didn't show up but had nothing cool going on.
3. The false enthusiasm of their "apology." Despite what they say, they are not "sorry" they could not make it to your shitty event, and they have no reason to be.
4. They want to get attention when they won't even be present. Can't you just shut up like a normal person?
