Part of what set Tiger apart was that HE treated it like a sport. He trained the way athletes in contact sports trained. See his physique? He inspired other golfers to hit the weights a little bit and prepare themselves differently. It isn't contact, but it is an endurance sport to a certain extent. The stronger you are, the better able you are to walk that course in the sun during the final round on Sunday.

What separates the National Enquirer and other rags from mainstream papers and news outlets is that they'll pay sources for stories, which the more mainstream outlets will say is unethical. However, sometimes that's what you have to do to get the real scoop. Mainstream outlets won't pay, but they'll piggyback once the other outlet breaks it. They can always say that THEY didn't break it if it turns out to be bullshit, and use the excuse that other outlets are carrying the story, so they have to also due to competition. The Enquirer HAS broken some major stories that turned out to be true. They are willing to get down in the mud, and they'll always get the jump on certain kinds of stories because people with certain kinds of info (especially sex-oriented dirt) know they can get paid. They can get back at whoever they're ratting on, and profit from it.
Not sure why Tyson is being mentioned in here, nothing "beta" about him. He fell for the wrong chick, got married and screwed in the process. Alot of you guys talking crap like you have never made a mistake with a woman.

The National Enquirer has uncovered some legit gossip, but 90% of it is bullshit. They don't make things up per se, but they are VERY lax in how they use sources. Most of the quotes will come from "a friend of Britney Spears, who prefers to remain anonymous..." without even verifying whether that person has any connection with Britney Spears.
If this new Tiger Woods story is legit, it will hit People magazine and be on E! news within a week.

ESPN uses a ton of anonymous sources also to get scoop, which is another issue I have with their work. You never really know if there's really a source, or if it's something the reporter fabricated, or is simply speculating on. The funny thing is, I've heard Stephen A. take shots at athletes that drop anonymous comments without putting their name to it. They're only too glad to use the comment, then rip the commenter...HA HA!
Apparently Tiger is 'dating' (read: fucking) for the Skiier Lindsey Vonn now.
