Content Top 6 Orthodox Streams

I drive a ton for work as a technican over the road long distances and listen to alot of streams. These are my top 6:

#1 Orthodox Talks

Outstanding storytelling. Audio only. Long lectures. Some rare questions from in person audience. He can talk for ages, is very soothing to listen to, and is uber based. Best overall. No complaints.

#2 Patristic Nectar Films

Very good short/medium length lectures in audio/video format. Nothing bad to say about it. Just great. We would all be lucky to have a chad priest like this. Would like to see some interaction with his audience taking live questions.

#3 Father Spyridon

Lovely short lectures always around 10 minutes. Audio/video format. Always a pleasure. Would like to see him do more interactions/call ins like he did with Roosh and maybe some lengthy lectures as well as taking live questions.

#4 Church of the Eternal Logos

Long lectures in audio/video format with screenshares, live chat, questions, etc. I find him to be the most relatable. Pretty advanced philosophical topics sometimes but great at explaining them. Just did his first live debate. Not a fan of the occasional promotion of 'drinking to relax' and the 'beach bod mindset'. Nevertheless still very good. Would really like to see a collab between COTEL and Roosh regarding women. Organizes meetups.

#5 Made by Jim Bob

Long chat interactions with "Posh Redneck" who has the most amazing voice - sounds like Saruman from Lord of the Rings. Lots of group debate format with screensharing, live chat, questions, call ins, etc. Some short innovative clips as well. Very funny. A bit early for these guys but loving this duo. Lots of potential.

#6 Jay Dyer

Mostly long audio/video lectures with lots of live chat, screensharing, call ins, questions, etc. Extremely technical. Nerdiest of all. Some shorter presentations that are nice. Lots of autistic debating. Many times I get lost. Funny but the boyish humor and lack of charity can be a bit bothersome at times. Organizes meetups.

Any to add here? What you guys think?

I can't disagree with anything in your list. Your top three are spot on if someone is looking for spiritual nourishment.

I recently came across Jim Bob and Posh Redneck. I don't think Jim Bob is Orthodox (yet). Posh Redneck is apparently Serbian although how he ended up with that accent I have no idea. I would never have guessed he was Serbian until he mentioned it in a stream. He has his own channel which can be found here although he hasn't produced much content yet:

I would add the following channels, in no particular order:

The Royal Path

These are two hour discussions on a single theological or spiritual theme between Father Turbo of Kansas City and two of his spiritual children. There is the occasional guest. I don't have time to watch all the episodes but if I'm working from home or driving I'll sometimes have this on in the background.

Jonathan Pageau

Jonathan is an Orthodox iconographer and symbologist from Montreal. His content is a mixture of interviews with guests, Q&As and 20 minute expositions on a single theme.

Mr Patriarch

The channel is owned by a Orthodox convert from Alaska. His content is less regular and consists of interviews and shorter reflections on individual themes. There's a fair amount of content dealing with the philosophy of politics and the interplay with religion.

David Erhan

David is a Turkish convert to Orthodoxy. Most of his videos deal with theological topics, specifically the Councils, Christology, Trinitarianism, the Essence-Energies distinction etc. He also does a fair amount of political and social commentary.

Patristic Faith

The Patristic Faith channel/website is run by Father Deacon Ananias Sorem, an Orthodox convert from Montana and a Professor of Philosophy. His personal content focuses more on philosophy and is irregular, but content from other Orthodox contributors is posted on this channel.

Brother Augustine

Probably needs little introduction given this channel is run by Michael Witcoff, a Jewish convert to Orthodoxy who is a member of RVF. He does a mixture of live streams, book reviews and interviews. Personally I've enjoyed the interviews the most, he's had a lot of interesting guests.

Orthodox Shahada

This channel is run by a Serb with the nickname Qai and Lewis, an Orthodox convert from England. They deal mainly with apologetics with respect to Islam and various theological topics.

Seraphim Hamilton / Kabane

Really smart Orthodox convert from America who has done a lot of great Biblical exegesis and apologetics. A good debater too.

I totally forgot about Pageau. I would have made my list a top 7 otherwise. Thanks for reminding me. Super interesting and really unique content.

I knew about Patristic Faith also but just haven't gotten to tuning in yet. I haven't heard of the others but I'll definitely give them a listen.

Thanks for chiming in here. Hope we can get some more input from others.

I'm sure there's a wealth of Orthodox content like this but it's not so easy to find. Many of the channels are quite small.

Here are mine that were not already listed. The first three are all Texas priests from different generations, who give excellent sermons. The next two are well known and need no introduction from me. The last one is sort of a Catholic version of David Erhan.

Excellent! Thank you. Not familiar with any of these.

Great wealth of content posted so far. I'm sure the other forum members will appreciate this!

Great thread! Thanks for sharing your tips, I will check them out. Some are new, some I already knew. I think this thread will get more traction in the Orthodox sub forum, so something for the mods to consider maybe moving. Very useful!

Also to add one stream, I really learned a lot from Tristan Haggard, aka Primal Edge Health. His channel goes more into the realities of the world, great reset, regime etc, with a focus on the nutritional/environmental/health side of it all. Really interesting analyses about the lies of climate change, the agenda to eat bugs, the poison shots. And he's Orthodox so albeit this isn't an Orthodox theology stream, he does often quote Saints and places the current developments in an Orthodox worldview.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Craig Truglia, he does a lot of good content on theological topics and has good debates and guest content.

Especially helpful because unlike a lot of people mentioned above his apologetics content is geared more toward Protestant objections than Roman Catholicism, which is helpful for guys like me who can count all the Roman Catholics he’s known in his entire life on two hands but knows hundreds of Protestants.

In order to avoid ads, I use downloaders instead of watching from a youtube app or web page. You can DL chants on youtube, but as audio-only and now you have a nice MP3 (Windows preferred) or M4A (Apple preferred) to which you can listen. Here are the downloaders that I rely upon in order of my preference:

4K Downloader
Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, and Android, which is limited compared to their desktop versions. Has both free and paid versions that can DL from youtube, bitchute, and many more. Can DL individual URL's as well as playlists, and can automatically DL channels that have been added to subscriptions. Allows for video or audio-only of various quality levels, such as 1080p video, 128 kbps audio, etc.; file types such as mp4, mkv, mp3, m4a, ogg; and subtitles.
https://www.4kdownload.com/products/videodownloader/22

Stacher
Windows and Mac. Free only.
Can do everything 4KDL can do except for playlists and subscriptions. It has a more complicated interface that allows for extensive and very useful naming formats. Stacher can DL from many more sites than 4KDL, such as Twitter.
https://stacher.io/

Newpipe
Android and free only.
Can only DL from youtube, Peer Tube, SoundCloud, and BandCamp. Can do multiple subscription groups and is very easy and intuitive to use. Allows for video or audio-only of various quality levels, such as 1080p video, 128 kbps audio, etc.; limited file types: mp4, m4a, and opus, as well as subtitles.

dvd
Android and free only. Can DL from the same huge number of sites as Stacher because they have the same internals.

I know Father Andrew Damick isn't popular on here for his vax stance, but The Lord of Spirits Podcast has an unparalleled wealth of information that goes deep into the challenging bits in the bible that people are quick to ignore or wave away as metaphor. Their episode on giants in the bible is notoriously good. They are amazing at weaving together Old testament prophecy and New Testament fulfilment as well. Highly recommend.

I've listened to maybe 10 of his Lord of Spirits eps with Father Steven DeYoung and the information was excellent.

I listened to one of the streams from The Royal Path, with Father Turbo Qualls. After skipping past 30 minutes of chatting about their favorite music, the three men had a great religious conversation. I really got a lot out of it.

A fellow parishioner recommended Kabane to me, and I liked the first one that I heard.
Thomas Hamilton (Kabane)
Creating Orthodox Christian theology, philosophy, and apologetics. My undergraduate degree is in History (2017) and I have a Master of Arts in Early Christian Studies from the University of Notre Dame (2019) as well as a Master of Theology (Th.M.) from Duke University (2021).

A thread to share the teachings/lectures/songs heard on this radio channel.

I enjoy their Chant radio
