If we’re honest almost all art and architecture post WW1 has been crap. Art Deco contained sort of a last dying gasp within it I suppose (it was conceptualized before the war although it’s most known for the 1920’s through the 1940’s).

I was always taught "less is more" in art and design classes. That is the mantra all millennial artists operate by, "less is more".

I really hate it actually. I have fallen into this myself as I'm quite lazy and it's really just an easy way to knock out work without doing much work.

I can do the flat style. It's really easy. But I prefer the detailed version with shading and all that.

That's a good point.

Even when I was too young and naive to see that the Beatles were degenerate subversives, and thought rather that they were "boringly wholesome," I could see there was something sinister and off-putting about the Yellow Submarine art. In retrospect, it seems to have been a blueprint for a lot of visual degradation which came later.

Back when I was on Facebook I never really noticed this style in an overt sense, I was more interested in clicking 'next' or whatever to get the dopamine hit. Of course I saw it, and it registered on a certain level, but I didn't notice it as a style. This makes me wonder whether it's designed to be taken in on a subconscious level. It's not meant to make you pause and draw your overt attention away from your scrolling or clicking, but you see it on a different level (I clearly did because when seeing this thread it immediately brought to mind that this style is ubiquitous) so maybe it's designed so that the no white men present imagery and so forth goes in on a deeper level?

Sometimes found the same graphics on Facebook and Google for human art, I didn't know in deep about graphics but both provides similarity in art and graphics.

I have a music trivia calendar, and one of the recent factoids was that Paul McCartney wrote the lyrics to Yellow Submarine. Upon seeing them, John Lennon wrote "Disgusting!! See me" on the lyric sheet. I'm not sure what he was referring to. But many of the Beatles songs were symbolic or featured duality (ie Lucy LSD)
