Some of you are confused....
You seem to believe that a man can't be a good person who is compassionate, AND a beta sucker at the same time.
I assure you, you can be both a sucker, cuck, and beta, and still be a compassionate, honest, moral man.
Should this man be the butt of jokes and the subject of ridicule? No. But he shouldn't be admired either.
Recognize his mistakes, and don't put him on a pedestal anymore than you would a woman.
There's no doubt he's a "good" man, but there's also no doubt he's a loser in pragmatic terms.

Guy did a good thing adopting an abandoned kid. While it's not his problem, the kid will surely do better with the guy than in the spanish orphanage/foster system.

Children feel this way because they have an undeveloped sense they are the center of the Universe and everything that happens in it is a reaction to something they did.
Thus when they get older they are more likely to have problematic relationships. In short, they may unconsciously push people away or get involved with people who will leave them so they can affirm, "Hah! I knew they would just leave me."

I wouldn't get myself in this guys spot but I cannot hate on him. He is raising a kid which is a good thing. The posters who say he is "beta" kind of crack me up. 3. Actually the guy moved out first. Later, she didn't have money to pay for her rent and she was getting thrown out, she called this guy and told him about her situation, he said he could stay with her son till she fixes up her accommodation problems. He ended up staying with the kid till today.

While I did not think Spain was the same as the United States, I would expect that someone from another country wouldn't be allowed to leave their child in Spain without living with a parent.
3: It sounds like the mother really wanted some place to abandon her son. In this situation, the son should be placed with the closest relative in the blood line, not dumped off on someone that the mother happened to 'run into' over the years.

Yes, unfortunately he was taken big time.
He may be a good person, a good father, he may even have wanted the kid, however the sad fact remains that the columbian girl used him, she didn't want the kid and got rid of it to carry on riding the carousel.
The ironic thing will be if she returns in a few years wanting to come back together with the guy.

- Paying full price for a meal, giving it to the dude who bangs your wife, and eating the cold leftovers
- Taking the expired pint of milk to the counter and offering to pay triple for it
- And so on. You get the picture.
