I’ve also had horrible experiences with doctors but I’ve had good ones too. I am not a feminist and I don’t believe married women should work if they don’t have to, at least not full time. But because of past experiences I trust female doctors more than male doctors, depending on the type of doctor. I also don’t trust psychiatrists period. They’re just there to make money because their income depends almost entirely on prescribing pharmaceuticals. But I’ve been to way too many male doctors who seem to value their ego more than my well-being and get angry when I question them while almost every female doctor I’ve seen will actually listen to my concerns and let me explain what’s going on before deciding the best course of action and are more cautious about prescribing me medications. They also seem more compassionate. This does seem to be unique to the medical field because outside the medical field most women these days are total harpies to be avoided when possible. I’m also in the middle of a pharmaceutical malpractice lawsuit over horrific side effects to a pharmaceutical whim my own uncle who is a doctor himself was involved in and every male doctor I saw was so quick to defend him while every female doctor I saw was horrified by the malpractice he was involved in. I avoid going to the doctor period when possible but unfortunately sometimes I have no choice. And it is precisely because of the natural differences both in behavior and biology between men and women that I reject feminism and even if I prefer a female doctor over a male.
