Seems as though you have identified triggers that one can assume are imbalances in brain chemistry. This could also be quite genetic, and if it is, then learning the things that trigger such impulses is a good a cure as any. As in my case, my Grandparents never sat still for 2 seconds. It could also be environmental, but, I often question why is it this disorder seems to be centralized and diagnosed/reported more so , in industrialized nations. Maybe there's just more to do, in a short span of time in such nations. My guess is that it is purely genetic, and one would find kids in the Sahara, acting the same way if they were predisposed to such traits. I try my best to stay away from conventional medicines, but sometimes they are needed in severe cases. I think someone on here already mentioned Ginkoba for focus and stimuli, and I also drink a lot of valerian , chamomille, tea when I feel certain impulses that may stir up the urge to wander the halls of Montezuma. If you find that you are more creative when in "scatter brain mode", I am not sure why this would warrant a cure. Some of the most brilliant men in history would be diagnosed today as "scatterbrained".
