Yuengling, but I do love a good Sapporo in those huge cans. Or a pint of three philosophers. Anything Belgian is usually good to me.

Lav, or "Lion" is a good Serbian beer whose slogan is also interesting - "either you are a lion, or you are not".

If you're looking for a great winter beer try Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout by North Bay Brewing. Full, rich body with flavors of chocolate, coffee, toffee and dark fruit. The bottled beer is excellent but if you can find it, the nitro version is just superb, with a big creamy head and silky textured beer underneath.

And Rasputin was a world class player!

Abita. Brings me back to college. Especially the strawberry ones. FUCK! Ditched class just to drink with my buddies. Good times :-/

And my favorite, Mississippi Mud. I only bought it for the bottle but it was so delicious I made it mine.

And if I'm low on cash...

I found a six-pack for only $7 yesterday and I snatched it up. Went well with chips and guacamole

I moved to New Orleans when Abita was still in its early years. The Amber quickly became my favorite beer; it was an excellent take on the Marzen style and was so fresh-it would come straight from the brewery on the other side of the lake to the bars in kegs. In the last few years I've been disappointed in it though, it doesn't have the same taste or freshness. that may be due to me living in Florida now though. I also remember when Purple Haze came out -you could only get it on draft for quite a while

My favorite Abita now is the Strawberry-I love the dry authentic strawberry taste. But it's seasonal and the supplies run out by the Summer. Can't wait for Spring to get some more.

Right?! In California, those fuckers cost like $10 a six-pack and the Asians -who can hardly stomach a normal beer- buy all the inventory. Well, joke's on them. I'm saving up some cash for Spring and those strawberry ones will be MINE!

I like the strong Russian imperial stouts 10%+ alcohol. Cant stand american beers Miller, Budweiser, Coors etc. They all taste like water compared to the robust and thick stouts. As a general rule I will never drink a beer under 7.5% alcohol content. What is the point?

Best imperial stouts

1. Ten Tidy Imperial Stout 10.5% alcohol content. Don't be fooled by the can packaging. This is an independent brewery. They could only afford to buy equipment that packaged the beer in aluminum containers. Best stout on the market. Chocolate, coffee, caramel hints, with roasted barley.

2. Speedway Stout--Does not even taste like beer with the added coffee and chocolate flavors. and is wicked dangerous to drink. 12% alcohol content. I can handle my alcohol like a pro, but the coffee/caffeine masks the alcohol, which can lead you to drink way more than you should. Excellent stout--but in very small amounts. Don't try drinking the whole 22 oz bomber or you will end up in the bathroom (source: first hand experience).

3. Honorable mention. Stone Brewing Imperial Russian Stout 10.5% ABV. It is seasonal and hard to obtain consistently throughout the year. Hate that. Some of the older vintages age very well.

But for just standard night out, I prefer Sapporo. It has the light and crisp taste that I really enjoy.

I second this. I think Sapporo is probably the best light, crisp beer out there. For some reason it always tastes SOOOO good with Chinese food.
