I've had almost every single beer posted in this thread.

I'm a beer aficionado... but lately I've really been digging the hopps overdosage of micro brewed pale ales.

Here's my standard, go to ...Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA. 7.2% ABV bitches! TOP THAT MOTHERFUCKERS!

Love it, especially now that Costco carries it at 24.99 a case.

But here's the other IPA I buy when it goes on sale, Big Swell IPA Micro-brewed on Maui:

A respectable 6.8% ABV. Only 3 or 4 of these higher % ABV are all that I need to get the perfect buzz.

I tried most of the American brands when I was in the USA and I'm sorry to say but it all tasted like piss to me in comparison to the better European brands.

My favorites are:

And from the tap when in a real Irish pub:

I love Žywiec and Tyskie, now that they've been mentioned. I got the impression that both are quite strong, though!

Really? I actually did not like most of the Polish beers except Lech. They all taste like they've been chemically treated or something. Surprisingly, I liked all the Croatian beers I had when I was there! :)

In Russia I actually like Stary Melnik and Sibirskaya Corona - they are not bad on draft.

Back home one of my favorite is Boulevard Wheat...really tasty and not too overwhelmingly 'wheat' if that makes any sense. It's really good out of the aluminum can to me for some reason.

Best beer I've every had was in Germany though. The local brews around Stuttgart and Munich are really great and brewed with fresh spring water, no preservatives and no hangover. They were a real eye-opener. Most of the smaller ones had the re-sealable tops most of these beers still have (like Grolsch) but unfortunately I don't have the names of any of them...

I used to spend alot of money per beer. If you pay for it, you usually get great beer (in my opinion). As I've aged though I've been looking to include my cheapness with my beer choices. That being said, I usually and happily settle on:

All made in Wisconsin, all in the lager family, all taste pretty good, all dirt cheap.

If I wanted to splurge: Harp, Guiness, Hobgoblin, spotted cow, any samuel smiths, or samuel adams, fat tire, moose drool.

Oh and on the retired list. Red Maple beer now defunct but once made in Sault Ste. marie ontario. Dark beer made with maple syrup. Amazing but now no more.

Moosehead is a good, cheap, imported beer in the bottle at about $20/case. Out of Newfoundland, I think it's cheaper in the northeast than other areas. They go down easy.

For Beer go to Belgium. And check out my datasheet on Antwerp if you go. ;) No seriously, Belgian beer is great.

Chimey, rogue shakespear stout, sierra nevada pale ale and unfiltered wheat, leffe, a 50/50 mix of raspberry lambic and pear cider (it's a good chick drink).

Back in my drinking days these were my top choices. Redstripe, Budweiser, Newcastle, Left Hand brewing milk stout, Heineken.

I think those are all pretty decent 'go-to' type beers (except for Left Hand, which I've never tasted).

I'm not trying to "white knight' for Roosh re Budweiser, but I have drank a lot of it (the American variant) in my life and think it's a half-decent beer. So I don't understand the hate on Bud really - it's not bad, and years ago used to be considered a 'premium beer.' (does anyone remember the old Meisterbrau slogan "Tastes as good as Budweiser...at a better price"??)

I just think sometimes that the anti-American beer perspective (which used to be fairly true, but no longer is) jades some people on US beers.

I forget what brand it was, but I had this India Dark Ale at the Asgard Irish Pub in Boston/Cambridge.

Also, up in New England we have the "Heady Topper" by The Alchemist brewery up in Vermont. It is supposed to be the best beer in the country/world? There is a serious limit on even how much you can buy at one time, and it runs out so quick, you have people lining up Fridays just to buy some.

I second Rogue Shakespeare Stout. My other favorite is Oskar Blues' Old Chub
