Anyone rooted their phone?

Did for battery life increase significantly?

Running rooted LG G3 with unlimited call, text and data (4G LTE) @17 € / month.

As for the question, using app like Greenify with rooted works really good. How good ? Depends on the use but i'd say you get 25 - 50 % more out of the battery.

Root is not required but makes it slightly better.

Samsung Galaxy S3. I had a Sony Z1S but the screen broke so this was a cheap replacement, it works good enough so I'm not buying a new phone.

On a T-mobile shared plan with my brother. The international calling and data options are pretty indispensable for my lifestyle.

I use Verizon. I have an Unlimited plan. I recently had a Motorola Rep friend of mine give me a Nexus 6. I have to pay full retail for my phones to keep the unlimited plan. After using the various Samsung Notes and S Models, the Nexus is BY FAR the best phone that I have ever owned. Pure Android. No bloat. I rooted it and it does everything I ever need it to do. As it is an unlocked phone, I can use it internationally, as well. Incredible piece of equipment.

Almost 3 year old Blackberry Bold 9900, my cellphone game is a little behind the times. I'm with Movistar in Venezuela, 400 texts and 400 minutes talk for emergencies more or less. Its a little over one dollar usd per month and It works in all of Venezuela. I mostly use whatsapp on wifi at my house and rarely risk pulling out my phone in public.

Why ? You fear people making fun of you or Robbery ? Is Venezuela that dangerous ?

I haven't had any problems yet but there is a real risk here, life is hard in venezuela and people are desperate, my girl evaded a car jacking in broad daylight a few months ago.

Have a Motorola E through Republic. Costs me $12.47 per month for unlimited minutes and texts. Data is Wifi only. You can get an unlimited data plan for $25/month but I've been ok simply using Wifi for my data.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought a smartphone. iPhone 5s. It's definitely a big change after using a flip phone since I was a freshman in high school.

^I've only had it a couple days so im trying to figure it out. Tinder is definitely something new and fun to enjoy. Not used to having all of these things accessible in the palm of my hand...good lord, I sound like an old man.

Anyone tried a dual SIM card phone where both sims can be active concurrently? Dual SIM card phones should be great for travel when you want to use your home sim and a local sim at the same time without having to carry two phones.

Yea - I've got a dual sim phone.

It's nifty. I can receive calls from the U.S on my American number anywhere in the world (and it's like they're dialling local).

It's been a lifesaver actually. Before I was having to rely on skype (and shitty wifi), and I lost a couple clients due to dropped calls.

Call quality is always 100% this way. The downside is I can't call back - just receive.

I have the same. Dual SIM's are great for pipelining on Whatsapp with a local number.

I'm using a white Note 4, had a S4 before but the terrible battery life had to be sorted sooner rather than later.

A cheap Motorola that pretty much looks like a smaller version of the IPhone and a pre-paid deal where I pay $30 every 2 months. I laugh at people who go on ridiculous plans and rack up expensive phone bills in the hundreds per month.

Anyone here on Google Project Fi? Have an invite, and trying to decide if I should join.

Specifically, wondering if the Nexus 6 requirement is too limiting (and I should hold out for newer phone models to be added to the pgm). Also, whether the included data while roaming through most of the world works well in practice.
