What would you do with $10K?

Along similar lines as the $110K thread, consider a situation in which you have amassed a small nest egg of $10K. Also assume you live in a major North American city with expensive real estate, own your primary residence with 50% equity, have a steady job paying low six figures and a small side business generating $30K annually with no potential for growth, and have a company defined contribution pension plan that will provide for you in retirement with no additional savings required on your part.

What would you do with $10K sitting in the bank? It's a decent chunk of cash, but not enough for anything substantial.

I'm most interested in niche side businesses that require a moderate capital investment and low time commitment.

Doesn't answer your question for a business venture but, a dark navy bespoke suit and brown dress shoes would do it for me. Gotta be incredibly comfortable versatile for any situation.

A great idea, but I actually purchased a pimp blue suit and swanky brown shoes earlier this season. I could use a few custom shirts to complete the ensemble, but those aren't enough to make a dent in my finances.

Ideally I'd like something that could start small and have the potential to grow indefinitely over time. I find that most decent business opportunities either have substantial capital requirements or the full-time attention of the owner, which doesn't work for me or most forum members. $10K is a reasonable savings goal for an average person though.

A few months ago I saved up 10,000; I rented a car and took a hot Colombian girl on a road trip through Europe, stopping at every nude beach in Portugal, Spain, and France, while also fucking 6 times a day in caves, beaches, waterfalls, and the side of the road when there was a place to stop. It was like a softcore porno fling that lasted 3 months. I wouldn't trade that memory for the world.

You can always buy shoes, suits, cars; but you can't buy time . Use that 10k to make memories before it's too late. Material things will never make you truly happy, not like spending time with a beautiful woman and experiencing pure and utter freedom. Go stand naked with you arms stretched out while starring into the waves and abyss of the Atlantic ocean while a hot Latina girl stands behind you rubbing your back with her long hair blowing in the wind, then you'll know the purpose of this life and why you are here.

That $10,000 can change your life. Or you could just buy a suit that'll eventually be sold for $2 at your estate sale when you die.

Take a trip to Venezuela and have a fuck fest with big tittied bitches.

Rent this home for 300 USD a month in Venezuela:

Or this home for 2100 USD
https://casa.mercadolibre.com.ve/MLV-491153802-casas-en-alquiler-_JM

Pipeline a bunch of girls over and have some fun. You can eat a steak meal for $5 bucks or a Whopper for $1.80. Live large. If you're an incel; top-shelf whores are cheap, 2 hours for $8. You really shouldn't resort to this...either home will have girls flocking to your place to chill.

You'll never have so much fun and you don't even have to leave home.

Spot on. Those are the sort of experiences that will give you that smirk of satisfaction on your deathbed.

This thread is not going in the direction I was hoping for.

Assume I have already gone on a 3 month road trip with a large breasted South American woman, and have many good memories.

I'm in a somewhat similar financial position, and I'd honestly just do another roadtrip.

Once things settle in my life, I'd probably invest in a business I enjoyed (beer making, photography, music) even if it didn't really make as much money as other investments

This is your emergency fund. Keep some of it in a checking account, the rest in a savings account. With the interest rates being so low, it doesn't make a lot of difference even if you keep all of it in a checking account.

When you save more than that, then decide whether you want to invest it, buy another suit, take a hot chick on vacation or all of the above.

If these are true why do you only have 10K?

Since you're most interested in a side business with low investment/time commitment, I would recommend using that 10k to get an online biz. Look to buy a website(s) through Flippa or Empire Flippers. Returns will blow stocks and real estate out of the water.

Or start your own online biz/website. Once you come up with an idea, head to UpWork and hire freelancers to do everything you need. You could also start an ad campaign on Facebook or Google.

I do contribute regularly to various tax free retirement accounts (RRSP and TFSA, similar to US 401k accounts) and prepay the mortgage on a regular basis, or go on relatively expensive trips. I already own basically anything I want within reason, and most of my best memories are from doing things that cost almost nothing so another big trip seems pointless.

:gamerecognized:

So how did you wrangle this situation without giving off the provider vibe? Assuming that you paid for the trip for her. Or was this an (extended) pump and dump?

Back to the topic, I would do recommend the following:

1. Either invest in Cryptos, if you have higher tolerance for risk. Crytos like BTC, ETH are going to do well in the future despite the shorter term turbulence.
2. Buy a USD $50K single family house in the U.S. by putting 20% down. Rustbelt states like Michigan, Ohio and Indiana offer many opportunities to buy houses in solid neighborhoods. You can rent the house using a reputable property manager and collect a profit.

Trying not to doxx myself here with too much personal info, but I'm married with a kid so leaving everything behind to travel the world banging sloots is not an option at this point. Family vacations do make for great memories, but the $10k could be spent better elsewhere IMHO. Young kids don't really appreciate traveling more than a day trip somewhere local.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying bitcoin near the beginning when I first heard about it. Since it's just a currency and has no inherent value I didn't see any reason why the value would skyrocket the way it did. Of course I also thought buying into the Google IPO was dumb because nobody clicks on internet ads...

Here's what I don't really understand- you seemingly have a good income and no need to save for retirement, and can't use common outlets for spending, so why are you trying to earn more money?
