I'm not 100-percent sure, but I think they're guys who are extraordinarily socially awkward (like clinically, on the spectrum) and who, at some point, paid commercial "pick-up artists" to try to solve their medical problem. My sense is that some of them were probably conned by the invariable opportunists and shysters that exist in that world but, in a lot of cases, it comes down to the fact that those pickup-artist guys are "coaches," not magicians. At this point, it seems they lash out indiscriminately at anyone who talks about women or dating or men's issues--labeling all of them "pickup artists" even though, in most cases, they couldn't be farther from one. It's like some of these damaged Tumblr chicks who think all men are rapists because someone grabbed their ass at Burning Man one time. Their website also seems to become a haven for aggrieved members of this and other random communities around the Internet. A least some of them are banned trolls from this forum. I think I remember the original IRT having an account over there. They don't seem like the brightest bunch overall, but at least a couple of them are just misled young guys hanging with the wrong crowd.
