It's a screenwriter's and casting director's way of signaling to the audience that the black dude is of high caliber on the SWPL scale and that the female is open minded and tolerant but posseses enough of a ballbusting edge to handle society's inability to accept their interracial relationship.

You see what you want to see, I’ve seen way more WMBW pairs in movies than BMWW.
I think actually it mirrors reality that there are more BMWF pairs then WMBF pairs.
Why? because men are the initiators of relationships. Men approach and women accept or deny.
The motivation for white men to approach black women is very low. Most white men are more attracted to white or asian women. Black men seem to be more attracted to white women then white men to black women. Plus for some of them it probably is a status thing to date or at least have slept with a white woman.
There is also this fact that is considered racist today that all races consider white people the most attractive by default, like all the experiments of little children of all races preferring white dolls over black ones and so on.
And of course most of multiracial pairings you see in Hollywood are propaganda to show that it's ok to lose your identity and heritage, especially if it's white identity and heritage.

Edward Dutton just mentioned this on Our Interesting Times with Tim Kelly podcast from December 2021. The reason is to demoralize white men and let them know that they have been conquered.
This was a big deal in the Second World War, when many Frenchmen were (often purposefully) demoralized by attractive Parisian women going around with invading German soldiers. In many other countries (France, Netherlands, etc.) after the war ended there were severe repercussions for these women, including shaving their head, marking/branding them, publicly parading and beating them, etc.
But when a man sees a woman from his culture going with an invader, that is a fundamental aspect of demoralization.

I noticed the stereotypical "cucking" thing seems to typically involve black men having sex with the wives of white guys. There seems to be some sort of sexual masochist thing going on there. I wonder if the choice of that interracially pairing for advertisements have the same sort of psychological root. Same with those videos you see with white people apologizing to and cleaning the feet of blacks and those self-flagellation.
There's this MGTOW guy used to do live field interviews with white women. At 2:35 of the video people a girl being interview straight up says "white people suck!" I can't imagine any other race having a large amount of people who has that sort of thinking. If anything, it seems like people who hail from ethnicities that, frankly speaking don't have much to be proud of, seems to be more proud of being who they are then white people are of being white.
This is actually WMBF (Bob and Mary Cratchett). I found this confusing although perhaps possible. I am curious how common it was for a white male to marry a female mulatto in 19th century London. I assume London was more open and diverse than other European cities at that time, but I am unsure how common interracial marriage would be. Part of me thinks the BBC did this deliberately to force diversity when it likely would not have existed though. If this were set in modern times, I would not have minded it. In the TV series, her race is never mentioned as an issue (which I find positive). However, the time period the story took place made her race distracting as I wondered if it was done unrealistically.
