Luckily obesity is not as huge a problem in my neck of the woods as other places. However when I'm down south visiting family, I REALLY see it.
I'm not disputing the fact that blacks are at the bottom of ladder when it comes to the SMP. However it doesn't mean ALL black individuals are at the the bottom. Nor are all white individuals at the top. Surely any sane man would choose Gabrielle Union over a Rosie O'Donnell. We are only taking about group averages here. But at the individual level, people often break with the trend. Things like obesity will keep a lot of women from transcending whatever place their group falls on the SMP.
