Why is going to therapy so trendy right now?

This is a 1st World problem. In the rest of the (non-West) world people are busy working to support their families. They don't have time to stay in front of the screen watching other posers taking glorifying pictures of themselves, making you feel unaccomplished, ugly, boring and poor.

Do you think beautiful girls watch porn?
Do you think successful men have time to watch TikTok?

A worrying trend right now is seeing people (especially females) (almost exclusively females in fact) posting the most obvious advice that their therapist gave them, along with a reaction showing they have no intention of following the advice.

E.g. “my therapist said that if I didn’t drink so much and sleep with every dude that meets the criteria, guys might respect me more which would cause me to respect myself”.

It really can be that obvious. As others have said, it’s just a way of showing that you are part of that ‘in crowd’. Just another way to secure attention. Pure and utter filth.
