They kicked the can down the road in 2008. They printed, whatever it was, half of all dollars ever created since the start of the pandemic. The petro-dollar is crumbling. The kind of reset they want is always coupled with a war, which explains why zero effort was made in avoiding war in Ukraine, among other reasons (see Trump's first impeachment for more). But if they somehow don't get war, they will get the blame for the inevitable crash. Timing is the question though. So maybe it happens in 2023, maybe not. But it is coming.

I have no Wall Street financial background; but I have no qualms about stating my opinion. If I am wrong, so be it. I am in my 50s so I must preserve my capital or I am screwed. My opinion:

I am sure there will be a giant crash in 2023. I believe it will be a great opportunity to make money. Be liquid so you can buy reverse ETFs (pick one) when the flush begins. When the flush is done use your cash to buy stocks at the bottom. Buy solid, real dividend producing stocks in companies you believe in. (Due Diligence)

Keep cash reserves on hand in case banks have a run - they do not keep money on hand. That's the source of last year's fake coin shortage. I keep $2k or so.

To answer the original question, I wouldn't put my bets on it.
If we look at the previous financial collapses, there was always an element of surprise involved.
In 2007, most commoners thought real estate prices were only going to continue to rise.
In 1999, right before the dotnet crash, most folks thought tech stocks could only go up.
and the story goes on.

It's hard to have a financial crash when everyone and their dog is predicting it. We've reached the point where if you ask a homeless person for their predictions of the financial situation they'll tell you a crash is just around the corner.

So yes, although I agree a lot of signs are pointing towards a crash, the element of surprise that was usually present in the previous crashes simply isn't here. I'm sure it will happen eventually, and when it does, it will be catastrophic, 1929 style. I just don't think we're there yet.

As for me, I continue to invest regularly in mutual funds as I've always done, but just keep a bit more cash on hand for that small chance that I might be wrong.

Jyst fyi, I do not know if there will be a crash and neither does anybody else...

But but I am smart and see the signs you say...ok...but no...just your pride and ego talking. The people who predict a crash, schiff, others, say the same thing every year...just like psychics count the hits, don't count the misses...and they pump their own investments...buy gold schiff screams from the heavens, heres my gold fund see?? Looks nice??? Buy from me.

They are no better than psychics with their guesses, go ahead and call miss cleo and youll get the same result...50/50 it will crash or it won't...and what did the bible say about sorcery or divination??

The system is way too complex for any person or even AI to predict with long term accuracy...

But but again I'm smart and know the signs...pure astrology my friend...get out your dowsing rod...lets search for water in the desert.

Have you made multi millions with stocks from nothing?? Most people over 90% cant beat an index fund with their own picks.

Now my opinion only...SCHD is a good dividend ETF, but dont listen to me study yourself.

Timing is notoriously hard to predict, but trends are crystal clear. All signs point to economic calamity on the horizon, followed by rising crime, civil unrest and eventually a world war.

Only God knows this...not you not anyone else...I remember hearing calls of a world war on the horizon going back to the year 2000. Same players...china, russia, US and even the generation before...

Plus the future is uncertain and can be changed...remember it was said Russia was consecrated by the holy Virgin Mary...it may have prevented ww3 before and may again...

The human mind can not see or comprehend...your signs may be like clouds that disappear to mist when you get close...

If you are a man of faith, which you appear to be, then you cannot ignore the fact that what is currently occurring throughout the world portends the end times of biblical prophecies.

It may or may not, I am not one to interpret or predict the will of God or the future of the world...that is mainly my point here...these things are unknowable.

I hear this from all the contrarian just to be contrarian types.

Ironically, it sets up a scenario where the crisis happens.

Follow the data and realize that most people are just overthinking this: all economies are in trouble, the US too, but it will be affected least and last, given the strength of the USD (for now).

It will be interesting to see what happens to the USD in 2023 given the fact that the BRICS nations are moving away from purchasing oil in USD, as well as the SWIFT payment system. Many countries are stacking gold at a furious pace in anticipation of the end of USD hegemony. It's also noteworthy that China just met with Saudi Arabia to potentially set up payment for oil in Yuan. Fun times ahead!

The Fed has began pivoting but rates will continue to rise, then pause, until something inevitably breaks and 2023 is the year it happens. I predict falling markets, first gradually, then sharply. Then Fed will begin cutting rates, the market will front run this by buying assets and number go up. In short I see 2023 being the year of economic destruction and revival and 2024-25 being good for assets. If you can survive the next 12 months I think there are good times ahead.

I dont know as of yet. I think we will need to go back to basics: invest in companies that provide real services and values, look at P/E ratio etc. The way people invested prior to the mental high of cheap credit and make believe value. Good old blue chips.
Very Sound. That is my strategy.

I also think as long as the Russia Ukraine issue continues energy sector will be a sound investment. I am biased on this since I work in this field. but...its kinda a low hanging fruit obvious.....
