This is emblematic of this 'nice' society they preside over.
I know there is an issue with veterans committing suicide. A lot of that probably has to do with increasingly being told they are terrorists; seeing their leadership is utterly corrupt/hopeless/who-knows; and having no idea why they fought in the wars they did.
But I see this stuff everywhere on Clown Island (Airstrip One). One of the biggest left-wing issues now is "mental health". The slogan "it's OK to not be OK" is very popular. The general bent is to get people to spill their woes in groups and be patted on the back. The idea is if you just lean on others and tell everyone how weak you are, then you will get better.
But you don't. Much of metal health issues is caused by long periods of thinking in certain ways, changing the structure of the brain and physiology. There is no way out, collapsing on other people. The only way out is overcoming, pushing against the pain.
I have a friend who was diagnosed with OCD. He had a serious breakdown during which he was essentially incapacitated. I told him the only way out is to push back against it, force yourself to change your patterns of thinking, accomplish something, do something hard. But he was very resigned to being on some meds and feeling sorry for yourself. This is the exact state that the left's approach to mental health encourages. Just feel sorry for yourself and have a cry with the rest of us.
Luckily he ditched the meds on the end and says he no longer has symptoms (although I believe the science says there is no cure). He described the way out as "piling on responsibility", which he has successfully navigated.
The way out is doing something, on your own. While they encourage you to spiral down with others in tears.
