Not promoting the most capable and intelligent soldiers to leading ranks will only exacerbate the growing dysfunction and degradation of the U.S. military. Plus woke officers with feminine personality traits do not win wars.
The fact of the matter is majority of the more independent, less "yes men" oriented officer corps left between 2016-2020. The Obama Purge and resulting emasculation and politization of the officer corps at the colonel level and above has had major negative results on our fighting force.
At the time I got out, just by billet selection, performance evaluations, and lack of critical thinking among my peer group, I have ZERO doubt I would have been able to make colonel, which in the Marines is pretty hard. However, it was a no brainer to get out whenever the DOD forced all members to recognize that there was a "transgender policy" and integrated women into combat arms.
There's still some of my buddies who are good dudes, just fininshing out their time to retirement.... and while I respect that choice because of the benefits it provides their family and the old retirment program.... I know they are miserable because they tell me. Most of us who had any independence got out, have made successes in business and never looked back.
I couldn't imagine being in right now after Covid, the anti-white agenda, and the political correctness run amuck.
Thank you for your service, brother. There are many of us who haven't served but who share your plight and are horrified about the systematic and wanton deconstruction of our military. It's happening all over the West by the way. The majority of defense ministers in Europe for example are women. Germany just switched to a man two weeks ago, for obvious reasons ;-)

Very astute observation and this tells us a few things. Seems like they're saying "ah oh, we, um, definitely "over-indexed", to say the least, on diversity, women etc. But then again, diversity etc never had any business in the military. Now that we're facing some serious warfare, they could be backtracking and, as you observed, out of desperation. The damage has been done. Not only among the existing rank and file but the military must consider the social implications too. And I'd bet they're definitely not giving that much weight at all, which means this will be ineffective. Its not enough to change your marketing tune to compel men, white men, in particular, to join. Why fight for a society that considers you "toxic", "unnecessary" and altogether useless? Why fight for a society that at best laughs at you and thinks you're inferior? This is far too ingrained in the zeitgeist, we see it here. Men have been told to take a seat and let women have "their chance". Meanwhile, women took this and acted like immature 13 years olds. And even after being given their little place in life through affirmative action they became arrogant and took to belittling men. They made their bed and now after all this time, they will be held accountable for it. Want me to fight? Then make it worth it to men. If this were to happen by the time all the wrongs are righted we're back in Patriarchy where we should have never left. But, I don't expect that, at least at this point. Later on, yes that's coming. Its like the failure of Silicon Bank, it was done because they went way to heavy on "social justice", let it fail and we'll pick up the pieces on the other side.
Soon we'll be hearing "but black Americans went to fight for the US even during Jim Crow" and all such. To their credit, that's true. I think the distinction is: such men were fighting for an even chance at the US dream. They were proving themselves for a better life, at home as well as abroad (or at least they earnestly thought they were). Presently, a straight white man in the USDOD is fighting to make himself a second class citizen in the country his ancestors built. He's also advancing a set of ideas foreign to the that history. Nobody willingly does that.
I dunno... How about NOT demonizing and sidelining an entire generation of young White males?

Another thing, let's consider the source, see above. Army "Secretary" christine...I have no business in being the martial arts/diversity hire. So, I'm just going to say it. The problem is staring us all in the face - its because she's a woman. The recruiting shortfall, being a very large double-digit percentage as we enter a global world war, is unacceptable. But, so is the abrupt failure of silicon bank, but, note their very "diverse" investment committee staffed entirely by women. And then the federal government's response to this event, which included, again, several women. As a reminder, the American iteration of socialism drew upon the "ghetto population, sexual minorities, and women", because that's where the revolutionary fervor was. As we collapse, look no further than these groups to place the blame. Several months ago I wrote a post that pinned our society's failure on women. Of course, it's also, homosexuals and radicalized blacks (see South Africa for supporting evidence). But, women represent half the population, so, their representation and placement thru affirmative action are more pronounced. I blame the lot, but, sticking to the topic will focus on women. I've come to realize that women are far too emotional and unstable to handle difficult decisions and positions, especially, executive positions. Hormonal swings due to menstruation are a large part of it, but, it's really a total package of this plus all the other uniquely "womanly" attributes that play into this. And we knew this from the start with Eve. The problem above will not be fixed because the person trying to fix it is the problem. It's like hiring the gunk clogging the drain to be the plumber.
This is the most apropos statement on the matter I've seen in a while.

Yeah, they'll probably pull something like this. But you said it best above. The Black community back in the 50s, racism notwithstanding, we're actually doing very well in terms of family formation, infidelity etc. No one can argue that this community is ruined and nothing like it was back then and, as Thomas Sowell has pointed out, this degradation all occurred post-Civil Rights and the infusion of the state into their lives.
But, whether white or black, the soldiers knew they had a real future. Today, we don't have a future. Perhaps the "marginalized people" can make a case for that, but, that system is crumbling. As a white man, I have no future and my children have no future. We're enduring a Maoist-style cultural revolution that
I recall being on leave before I shipped off to Iraq. I remember the plane taking off from Logan Airport (Boston) and as we climbed I saw the Boston skyline and remarked to myself "its worth dying for". But that was 2003 and it was a very different world. No gay marriage. No "trans". No pedophilia. Today, I choke on those words I once said and would never take up arms to defend this country, especially an absolute sewer like Boston, which hates me and considers sex as the only thing that matters.

These comments are great! On average I think they are more radical than we are on RVF! I went to the Youtube site and read the comments there before seeing you had posted them here, and I didn't see a single positive one. It's good to know the people this ad is reaching are so anti-woke!
I watched it and I find it downright insulting at this point that they would make an advertisement appealing to Heritage Americans by invoking images of the Revolutionary War. The irony is unreal. We're supposed to be moved by this imagery while simultaneously reading every day in the news of yet another statue of one of our forefather's being torn down, university and government buildings getting renamed, the faces on our currency altered, etc. All justified on the grounds that these men were nothing but morally repugnant, slave owning white males who don't deserve to be honored.
Our elites openly celebrate the demographic decline of the people they're trying to appeal to in ads like this.
They revile you and your history. They propagandize your children to look back on our nation's past in the worst possible light and then have the chutzpah to turn around and make emotional appeals to the same cultural memory they tirelessly ridicule. It's really a slap in the face.
Judging from the comments on that video it appears that plenty of conservative White Americans, "deplorables", have gotten the message loud and clear at this point - and that message is that the best thing we can do is hurry up and die so that the non-whites pouring through our open borders can take over. In the meantime, we should grovel and apologize and accept some sort of dhimmitude and act like second class citizens to our moral superiors, ie everyone who's not White and male.
It's at least heartening to know that this reaction is coming across loud and strong, both in terms of people saying what you wrote in your post, and saying the things in those comments, and also in terms of a lack of recruits.
The fact that they made this commercial means they know. They say hypocrisy is the tribute that vice makes to virtue. The US military and the government know they have scorned traditional Americans, and now traditional Americans scorn them back. However, they realize they need us, and hope that a little traditional appeal to patriotism will make everything alright.
Hopefully they will go down in flames soon. Burn baby burn!
