Hopefully the US doesn't enter already defeated in their minds. Then again, the last fucking thing we need is a shitty Disney movie about the USMNT overcoming 'insurmountable odds' and pulling off a draw against Ghana.

Bad draw for england.

If we draw against Italy (most likely result) and lose against Uruguay then Italy will play uruguay in the last game both knowing that a draw will see both of them through (assuming they both beat costa rica which seems likely).

Famous last words:

"We (Croats) have a chance, how tough can Mexico and Cameroon be?"

Mexico each WC is stubborn as hell, always a underrated dark horse and any of the Africa nations are on the cusp of finally waking up and causing harm.

This is probably the best draw Nigeria has had in long time, they better not fuck this up. They notoriously will play up and down to whom ever they are playing, they will draw Argentina but then go do stupid stuff and get cooked by Iran the next match.

Nigeria vs Argentina will be a great match, we have a long history on the pitch and both squads will be on their A-game for it.

If a Asian or Africa (hopefully both) makes the Semis I will be happy.

The luckiest in this draw were without a doubt the French

Come on: Switzerland, Honduras, Ecuador.

If they aren't first of their group, they will be a total failure ( and Argentina will punish them, shall they finish 2nd)

I think the Argentinians have it the easiest.

Bosnia, Iran, Nigeria?? Really?

I think Fifa wants their Golden Boy (Messi) to win a WC...hence easy draw. Love the Argentine style of play, but this wreaks of Fifa not wanting their guy to be written off as a choker on the international stage.

I don't know about this. Didn't this French team only just manage to see off Ukraine in the playoff (3-2 aggregate, big win at home but whooped on the road)? Ukraine is a solid side but Switzerland and Ecuador are certainly not out of that league. If France had a hard time with the Ukrainians I'm not 100% sure they'll easily dispatch the Swiss or the Ecuadorians (who will have some degree of an advantage at the WC playing closer to home).

Actually, Bosnia is VERY strong and Nigeria is the 2nd or 3rd best african team.

Ghana is the best african team out there, Germany will probably win but Portugal might struggle. Especially if we do not bring our A-Game, which only coms out with good teams, neither USA nor Ghana, being above average National teams, have the status of Germany, Spain, Brazil, etc. So this group is a roulette, I would only safely bet for Germany passing. The other slot is ... wild card...

Group G is looking killer. Ghana is probably wondering what what ill deed they have done to deserve this.

I agree. I can only guarantee Germany will pass and that USA is out for that group. Portugal and Ghana is up in the air. Portugal did OK in the last WC. They got a draw with Spain (winner) and Brazil. But CR7 was a disappointment. I'm leaning towards Ghana.

The real group of death is Group B. Spain, Netherlands, and Chile are all solid teams. Crazy that one of them aren't going to advance...

The "experts" have Spain and Chile going on but I don't want to rule Holland out.

True but this is Argentina were talking about here. I seriously doubt Argentina would struggle against Bosnia. I see them destroying Iran. Even if they get a tie with Nigeria or maybe lose, they will still make it to the next round if they beat Bosnia and Iran which I think wouldn't be a problem for them.

Just feel like the WC needs to be expanded to 48 teams or maybe even more, soccer being the global angel sport and all that.
The more the merrier.

Plus nobody really (really) cares too much about those qualifiers that occur 2yrs before the main event itself. Why not put as many teams together and have an even bigger party. Sure the logistics might be an issue but remember the WC had like 8 teams when it started off.

So if I wanted to experience some sweet sweden vs paraguay action all I have to do is pray and wait for like 20yrs.

Mexico will be out first round, which is good. They win a friendly against Spain/Brazil/Italy and think they are the best in the world. Their fans remind me of Packer fans.
